Did you catch all the sneaky details in the long awaited Puss in Boots sequel, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish? We found incredible easter eggs, references to Disney movies, connections to the other Shrek movies and more hidden secrets you missed!
The Shrek universe has gotten pretty expansive over the years, so it’s no surprise that Puss in Boots: The Last Wish had some awesome cameos from some of our favorite Shrek characters. We caught the gingerbread man, Pinocchio and even Shrek himself! The final scene also let us know that there’s more Shrek and the gang to come.
The Puss in Boots sequel also had a lot of fun with some references to other fairytales and some Disney films, too. From poison apples to Alladin’s carpet, Alice to Cinderella and even Mary Poppins’s signature piece of luggage, we loved spotting all these tiny details and references throughout the film.
And Puss in Boots: The Last Wish didn’t limit their references to characters and details from the obvious places like Shrek and Disney. The animators also drew inspiration from famous works of art, Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator 2, and the writers even poked fun at die-hard fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an anti-climactic post-credits moment.

At the beginning when puss is fighting the giant, there's church bell that rings 7 times then another when it kills him foreshadowing he's on his last life.

@@ERRORokiShouto the bell subtly tolls 8 times when Puss was at the bar. Damn the numeracy in this film is crazy...

Also, whilst Puss is at the bar, you can count 8 empty glasses of cream. A reference to the fact he's lost 8 lives so far.

@@nightxsabbath ALSO, when puss dies an 8th time the doctor blows at a candle and right before death appears at the bar a candle is blown out. And also, death is blatantly in the corner of the title cards for when he was showing his former deaths.
Don't forget the Fairy Godmother magic wand where Jack Horner used the wand to create a carriage to bring his men with him
We not gonna talk about the obvious Coco reference? When puss is fighting the giant he’s playing the guitar and gets crushed by the bell, just like Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco!
Don’t forget that the Black Pearl sort of made a cameo at the very end, the final ship Puss is seen sailing on shares a LOT of similarities to the fastest ship in the Caribbean herself

@@thelonelobstergaming9089 The Pearl also appeared in the HBO series “Our Flag Means Death” well, her design did at least
I literally gasped when I saw the far far way sign at the end. Talk about bringing back childhood memories.
I got Mad Max Fury Road vibes when Jack Horner was chasing them with his bakers dozen!
2:31 this is actually the one time i stuck around for the whole credits only to NOT find a post credits scene and not get disappointed. like, the movie was so good that i didnt care that there was no post credits scene
Don't forget the rose in Beauty and the Beast when Puss is trying to sneak into Jack Horner's office and steal the map

And the wicked witch’s crystal ball.
In the scene with the giant, it’s a direct reference to a deleted scene from the first movie
Ever realised when the bell fell on puss, it’s seems familiar. That’s because it’s referencing coco when the bell fell on that guy

Didn’t he have a guitar in hand at that point as well?
Am I the only one when Goldi, said to Puss that he's suppose to be dead and his response was "I got Better" was a refernce to Mass Effect 2?
there’s also a wizard of oz reference cuz Jack Horner says “I’ll get you my kitties, and your little dog too!”
When he says "Say hello to my gatito blade" is in reference to Scar Face when Tony Montana pulls his gun and says "say hello to my little friend". Before that when this guy is throwing the green apples he says "take theeese apples", that comes from Good Will Hunting when Matt Damond says "How do you like the Apples".
1ST YOUR EASTER EGGS ARE FANTASTIC
There’s a lot of general pop culture references I noticed For example, Puss riding on the fireworks on the opening seems like a reference to the riding on the bomb from Stanley Kubrick’s Dr Strangelove There also seems to be a lot of references to Spaghetti Westerns in the film through both the music and the way some scenes are shot (most notably the ending with the characters all staring each other down in a Mexican Standoff in a similar vain the The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - the song played in the background to that scene is literally called The Good, The Bad and the Goldi so it’s definitely intentional)
I really hoped that prince charming returns in shrek 5 since he really isn't dead when the tower collapse on him by dragon he has a potential to be one of the main antagonists of the 5th film this time around.
@adamH.1

No please no he was a main antagonist in the third film and look how that one turned out to be
It the death screen of when Puss dies, you can see Death the wolf in the top corner! Spooky indeed!
The good the bad and the ugly's "staring" scene
Im fairly confident the scene where puss is growing his beard in Mama Lunas hous and and version of "The End" is playing there is several scenes very reminiscent of apocalypse now
maybe i am the only one, because i saw noone talk about it online, but when i first saw the movie Luna's house looked like the house from Encanto
"I'm flying." Titanic, on the bow of the boat.
When Jack Horner eats magical snack and grow to a giant he says "I was worried for a second that I'll end up naked, but my clothes grew up too!" or something like that. Could this be reference to Disney's 2010 Alice in Wonderland?
King Triton's Trident, Captain Hook's Hook, Fairy Godmother's Wand, Pumpkin Carriage from Cinderella, Excalibur from The Sword and The Stone, among some others I can't remember right now.
When Death entered Cave of Lost Souls, it was familiar with Malthael from Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is just amazing.
You forgot that time when perrito said "whats your story" and then the cloud of memories appears is a refrence to spirit untamed and the original spirit
when the bee hive falls on baby bear he says “NOT THE BEES” which is a reference to Nick Cage’s Wickerman
In that painting dogs playing poker in the jail part of “DOG MAN brawl of the wild” you see dogs playing poker which I didn’t know
when puss escapes from wolf through the sewer that's a clear Shawshank redemption reference. also, the toilet is of ancient roman design the type we see in Pompeii.
Not sure, but the way Puss lungs at the giant reminds me of how Goku defeated Picolo daimao
How about The Last Battle from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Amazing video 👌
One unknown secret is that Death is on the front of Puss's cape. I just realized.
When puss kicks perrito into the forest and says dog you alive? That's z refrence to the live action smurf movie
"not the bees", harry Potter phoenix bird, pirates of the Caribbean bottle
So basically Jack Horner is Evil Santa Claus of Disney universe
When Puss and Kitty about steal the map from the Bear Family, Perito said :" Go get them, tiger".
When the bug on Jack Horner's shoulder acted as his conscience that was a reference to Jiminy Cricket being Pinocchio's conscience. They never said that bug was a cricket but he was. The voice of the cricket was definitely a Jimmy Stewart impersonation so it made me think of how Clarence the Angel in the classic Christmas movie "It's a Wonderful Life" acted as a guide/helper to remind Stewart's character that his life changed so many other's lives for the better when he was suicidal because of all the bad things he was going through. You youngsters might not have noticed that the cricket sounded like Jimmy Stewart. Rich Little the famous voice impersonator always did Jimmy Stewart. Here's a clip of the Dean Martin Roast of Jimmy Stewart with Rich Little from 1978, teaching Jimmy Stewart how to do a Jimmy Stewart impersonation. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZl4u5p6lazakdo.html. Also for those of you who watched the TV show Supernatural, do you remember when Meg the Demon called Castiel the Angel Clarence all the time ? That's a reference to Clarence the Angel in "It's a Wonderful Life ".
That’s a really curvy ‘log’ lol
The golden hand in puss in boots 2 jack horner had is from aladdin 3 the king of thieves
Micky mouses hay from that one movie/short shows up in the packing seen for Big Jack if you look carefully.
You missed the dig at flat earth theory.
0:39 A Jab towards Disney. 4:10 A Second but Major Jab and make of fun towards Disney. 4:31 A Third Jab towards Disney. 4:51 “Eat me”……Ok not only is that a 4th jab at Disney……but that’s definitely supposed to be a major make fun of towards Disney.
They didn't include the gasping/Oooh cat that was a reference to either one of the shrek movies or the first Puss in boots movie
there was a line with marmalade with the bears and I think it relates back to Paddington
Also the giant references the movie trolls during the beginning where it is woken up by a party just like in trolls and put them in a pack or purse of some kind also like trolls
You did forget that one OK you’ve got a lot but there’s one you forgot when Jack Horner is basically performing next to Pinocchio and he’s jealous of him it’s actually hilarious because we’ve gotten three movies of Pinocchio this 2022
Another big jab at Disney with the “ethical guide” Jiminey Cricket knockoff (with Jimmy Sfewart’s voice!)
We can see the wolf in the crowd while cat is fighting the giant.
Papa Bear is Mor'du.
So The Last Wish possibly takes place- Oh, it takes place after the first 4 Shrek movies, since we saw Shrek and Donkey in one of Puss’s memories, and we saw Puss baking with Ginger, and Puss mentioned wanting to visit some old friends after they were about to reach the Far Far Away kingdom!😄🤔🧐
When the bell crash, that’s a Coco Easter

i think my favorite would be the gold touch that (correct me if i’m wrong) references the myth of king midas
Its not a "Disney movie" its a fairy tale story
In the beginning when puss is fighting the giant stone man, the death was standing in the crowd looking at puss!!
Is that not a lord of the rings reference when puss, soft paws, and the dog are going to far far away, there seems to be the same music playing as when gandolf went to the elves home at the end of lotr
While puss in boots is fighting the giant you can see death
i haven't seen the shrek movies or the original puss in boots are they worth watching?
Run run run as fast as you can you can't caught me I'm a gingerbread Man 🥖🍞🏃🏃🏃
You miss the Goldilock
what about the aot one in the beginning
Puss in Boots and shark the both of them are the same universe
thought this video was gonna mention stuff like how death was there when puss died for the first time but instead it was just a huge amount of bullshit that was already known. 0/10 thanks for the timestamps so i didn't have to watch more than 20 seconds of this
DreamWorks really need to move to disney.

0:53 seem like pinoccio in this is evenmore darker than guillmore one ,his grandpa is the one who host the show and count the coin lmao also when they travel to the dark wood, they have a highlight flash montage during their journey, i think i seen similar edit somewhere befor it a cowboy movie but i cant remwmber the name.
transformers Pumpkin
Too many Disney for DreamWorks movie
Mr favorite reference is the wishing star is the same star Fiona wished on in the beginning of Shrek Forever After.
