CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Nick (Chris Evans) battles Agent Holden (Scott Michael Campbell).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Lucky Number Slevin director Paul McGuigan takes the helm for this action thriller concerning a group of telekinetic American ex-patriots who band together in an attempt to take down the clandestine government agency that's genetically transforming normal citizens into powerful psychic warriors. The Division is a shadowy government operation devoted to making humankind the ultimate weapon. Those who accept this transformation have the power to move objects with the mind, see the future before it happens, create new realities, and dispense of their enemies without so much as a single touch; those who are unwilling to participate are immediately terminated. Nick Gant (Chris Evans) is a "mover," a second-generation telekinetic who went into hiding after the Division killed his father more than a decade earlier. He lives a life of anonymity in Hong Kong, a densely populated place where fugitive psychics such as himself are safe as long as they can keep their unique gift secret. Suddenly into Nick's life comes 13-year-old "watcher" Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), a clairvoyant who needs his help in tracking down escaped "pusher" Kira, who may hold the key to bringing down the Division once and for all. A "pusher" is the most powerful kind of psychic due to his or her ability to influence the actions of others by planting thoughts in their minds. Now, as Nick emerges from hiding in order to help Cassie find Kira, the Division's human bloodhounds are hot on their trail. In order to elude the authorities, they'll need to disappear into the seedy underbelly of the city while relying on a team of rogue psychics to help cover their tracks. But Division Agent Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou) is a powerful pusher who has made it his mission to stop them at all costs, regardless of the collateral damages that may occur in the process.

I agree
i thought the power system for this was so cool and unique. it was barebones compared to other superhero power systems but it works for what the story needed. the powers were tangible and were adapted to the screen brilliantly, making you feel like these powers COULD have been implemented. i thought the memory erasing dude was cool, and i wanna imagine that similar to the pushers, maybe they can even add memories. i haven't read the comics, so i don't know if the story actually continnued, but maybe it would be like, finding others like them, or finding more of the first gens cuz that would be awesome
@TheUnseenPath

What do you mean by "bare bones"?
@BrendelC
Жыл бұрын
@@TheUnseenPath by power system, i mean something like how in avatar the last airbender, there's bending, nen in hunter x hunter, magic in harry potter, or the force in star wars. compared to other superhero comics or movies where they have all sorts of powers like flight, laser beam eyes, infinity stones that could literally do anything u want, but in the world of push, it's more that their powers are just super enhanced brain-related abilities. by barebones, i mean their powers aren't really too convoluted. they're creative for sure, and u can do a lot with them, but if u compare it to what other superheros can do, their power system is kinda weak. but, as i said, it made the story feel a little like it could fit in our world because it DIDN'T get so overly complicated, it was just "this guy can read minds, this guy has telekenesis, this guy can mentally manipulate sound." nice and simple

I would want to be a bleeder (the guys with the sunglasses)
Ever since I saw this movie, these are the powers I decided I would have if I could get some, that specific type of telekinesis
I really like when movies have badass secondary antagonists, who you wanna see get taken down as much as the main antagonists. Speaking of which, I was hoping that the main bad guy would’ve gone out in a better way. Like say maybe: He takes the drug, and actually survives it causing him to get stronger. He then manages to either crush a vehicle with him inside of it, bring an entire building down on him (like he did with that one bleeder), or...Eh anything really, so long as Nick is the one who kills him.
Are Jumper and Push in the same universe? If not then they should it'd be cool

This had so much potential to expand more than what we gotten. I can imagine an expanded universe with other variations of powers and stuff. This really could’ve been something special if they’d have stuck with the project.

There was a prequel comic with a shapeshifter and a teleporter. There's also crossovers with Jumper and Fade (invisibility, from a novel) on fanfiction sites.
FINALLY THE BIG MOUTH IS STOPPED
Honesty, when Jedi used the force on one another, I wished it looked like this. I still remember that awakward moment where Anakin and Obi-wan are just standing in front of each other with their hands open and nothing is happening. I mean using telekinesis would still effect the molecules in the air, effecting how light would reflect off of those locations giving at least some type of imagery and having no form of physics reacting to the force being applied feels empty
@Dre-yd2xh
5 жыл бұрын
that what i was always saying, they do that for the video game, but they need to put this type of telekinesis effect in movies, all they do is put in the sound effect of it, it would look better if star wars used light and shockwaves with telekinesis like this
