Yes! I'm looking at the claw, and think OMG, that's going to take some time healing THAT spot. Starts working on the other claw with the tiniest spot I wouldn't even be able to see without my glasses. I feel so foolish, I have to glance around my bedroom to make sure no one is looking at how stupid I am. (I live alone...but, shame is shame, and it always feels the same) I might have to wear a paper bag over my head for a week, so nobody can see my shame.

Hi Nate! I am not a farm girl and I am 72 years old. My first exposure to this hoof education was with The Hoof GP in Scotland. I got hooked and I was delighted to be introduced to a Wisconsin hoof trimmer. as that is my native state. I am now in Michigan. I have already learned additional information from you, Nate The Hoof Guy. I really appreciate how you present your thoughts and technique on each deserving animal. I have now watched four of your videos and plan on viewing many more. Thanks for your hard work.

It's because the cows are kept indoors rather than pasture. On turf, any pebble they would step onto would get pushed into the dirt. But on hard flooring, the stones push into the hooves instead. And those pebbles likely have fecal matter on them which speeds up infection. An unfortunate side effect of the industry.

All the others that I've checked out seem to make a massive bloody mess of the poor cows' hooves every time. Nate seems to be the only one who is really careful. Careful in the literal sense of the word; full of care for the cow's pain.

@@mcsmith732 I agree. I've watched some other channels, and I've had to turn my head to the side, they were that brutal. And, the other ones I've watched... it seems to be 'just a job' for them. But it isn't that with Nate. He seems to truly care for the cows, knows what he's doing, and is SO gentle. I'm sure the cows are thrilled when they see Nate coming, just knowing they'll get such relief. Cows: Get in line girls, Nate is here! Other cows: HEY...no cutting in line. Cow...but I WAS 5th in line, she took my spot!
