I had the hornor of working with Trooper Pettigrew's father, George Pettigrew in Wynne, Arkansas many years ago... I am very proud of this fine Trooper and I know his father looks down form above with great pride.

This trooper is so nice, polite and didn’t even say a word of profanity. He needs to be promoted. Awesome job sir!

Officer Pettigrew is the epitome of professionalism!

I’m willing to bet he told her that he will distract the trooper by running while she makes a getaway.

I really liked Officer Pettigrew, super friendly, he was unlucky that day, finding 2 fools.

Well that was different! Keep reading the title and thinking where is the pursuit and TVI, they are already stopped. Caught me by surprise when he took off running, Trooper Pettigrew dropped something and then the passenger grabs the keys and takes off, talk about a hot mess! She knew exactly what she was doing, I hope she gets another charge for helping him get away. She seemed awfully calm after the car door shut. Thank you James this was a good one, can't make this stuff up, 😂 Stay safe everyone. 😎

Trooper Pettigrew did an amazing job defusing her. Yeah it was dumb what she did but her reaction was more like a grown version of an abused little girl. He was calm and she settled down.

Ya, he was a nice officer, but he should have taken those keys or something else. Someone could have easily gotten killed during the chase. This town is not used to high-speed chases.

He caught her at Burger King. She musta really wanted a Whopper.

He is so professional and Calm.

#RearViewMirror? I removed all my inside mirrors, there a distraction and a blind spot! I only use outside mirrors and where I live it’s not a requirement to have rear view mirrors.

Car has both side mirrors. The center mirror inside is not legally required unless Ark has some weird law specific to it. Kind of a bogus reason to stop, but these dummies had to make to 100x worse instead of taking a minor equipment violation that could probably be thrown out. Geniuses v

The MOMENT the trooper suspected he was given a false name, he should have had a back up unit on the way. Never assume the false name is for the pettiest reason you can imagine but the opposite. Assume they want to get away with someone much worse and play it safe. Do not not push the issue if you can wait for the back up to arrive. A friend of mine was killed while trying to get a man out of a vehicle who gave him a false name. The false name wasn't the crime he was trying to hide but it showed his intentions were to try to get away by any means he could. Most examples of people giving false names have have warrants and other crimes they don't want revealed. The license is less often. The trooper did excellent calling out the pursuit calmly while out of breath.

Trooper was gonna literally let him call someone to get the car... what a couple of morons.

This has never been ruled on in a court of record in Arkansas, but many judges and prosecutors in district court agree that the statute only says you have to have one rear facing mirror on your car and the entire Arkansas code does not make reference to side-view mirrors, which are technically rear facing mirrors under the statute. so the not having a rear view mirror that tivket will probably be dismissed. all the other with this stop will stick lol

Ohio is two outside mirrors or a rearview. Think about the idea that it is not against the law to completely black out your rear window. Then theres Van's and trucks that have no rear windows. So this may have been an illegal stop!???

@@stevehamman4465 yep that what i posted is all i could find on it but yeah from what im reading all you have to have is a mirror that will show 200 ft behind you. so that charge could be argued and dismissed then the rest will follow because of the initial stop being illegal to begin with

@@Grimkirby yeah theres more but we talking about the initial stop and reasoning for it. l don't he other wouldn't have been known if it wasn't for the rearview mirror and with the way the law is written the side mirrors are technically only mirrors you need so actually illegal stop . so technically everything from that stop would be dismissed with the right lawyer

Hopefully the ASP has revised it's policy on confiscating keys. A lot of trouble could have been avoided if he had properly stored the keys in his cruiser rather than on the suspects trunk.

hell here in washington state law states you only legally have to have 2 mirrors either rearview and one other sideview or the two sideview mirrors
