The begining of an era in the dancehall was marshalled and highlighted by the creative and lyrically potent "PURPLE MAN" in the 1980s on soundsystems like King Jammys, Volcano ,Tape tone, King Atarius,Jack Ruby and Lees Unlimited.The original general of dancehall is ready and blazing with his tenth studio album called "DANCEHALL GENERAL".
The album is produced by Saunjay 'Triple Ace' Kerr for the label JISLAND RECORDS and features artist such as Eeka Mouse(his original label mate from the 1980s Henry Junjo Lawes Volcano imprint), Johnny Osbourne,Glen Ricks(of crack of dawn fame) and the Demus family.
The album begins with the track "IDENTIFICATION" in which he clears all confusion of his appearance and sound to that yellow mann.
The title track" DANCEHALL GENERAL" available also on 7inch vynil speaks to his capacity in the industry and the respect he gets for
his contribution.This album is filled with great variety in lyrics and riddims such studio one classics "i know myself",a remake of Bob Marleys Heathen Riddim and 90s dancehall riddims like "Cherry O Baby,Soap,Four Season and Throw me Corn.
