No it doesn’t provide the same “safety benefits”. I have those lights around my house and neighborhood. It does not illuminate the streets like that while lights. Yes it looks cool. But cool doesn’t equal safer or better. Bring back those boring white/yellowish lights. Poorly dim lights like these may incentivize people with bad intentions. There’s an Airbnb next door to my house and I overheard the out of town guests say, “what’s with those lights, it must be a Miami thing.” Yes, it’s unusual!!!

This isn't a light malfunction, this is intentional. These black lights are being installed throughout the nation. KC for example, the lights are carefully installed on selected spots on the highways. There's a purpose, I'm afraid we're just not sure what that is, yet.

Exactly! Those weirdos should just shut up and get back to work. No one cares if lights at night hinder human existence. Circadian rhythms affected is nothing but a myth propagated by the supposed unfeeling. They should be forced to silence. Blue light doesn't affect your sleep so you have an excuse for being late for work.

I hate them. It's hard to see.They are located up North in Florida as well.

So much has been said about the blue light from phone screens be a health risk , that now there's a "fleet" of black lights illuminating the streets (higher amount of ultraviolet radiation) and no one points out the clear health risk? And one thing that shocks me is reading the comments... many are scattered and even finding something serious like this funny ! I suggest that all unite and demand quick action to replace these faulty light bulbs, as everyone's health is at risk. I wish you all luck, and be careful not to stay too long exposed to these black lights.

They are lovely, unfortunately, it prevents people from properly being able to identify suspects when in need.

Those lights I believe are something more sinister. My neighborhood In Riviera Beach has them. However, there’s a military base directly across the street. That’s what I thought they were for 🤷🏿‍♂️.

American don't even speak English. The only English language that is spoken is the Queen's English in England. The American language is composed of all languages from around the world. You more thank likely say more than 50 words a day that are of a different language from a different origin. There actually is no name for the language that Americans speak every day because it is composed of every language of the 9 continents that make up the world we live in.

Thank you! That's why I left. Been gone over 10 Year's. The Miami I grew up in 1960 started fading around 2000. The company I retired from got sued by client s. They started hiring people who didn't speak English. Baby they had to ket them go. Not only them but they let go of HR rep and manager who hired them. The Housewives of Miami. I said where's the sister's at? And No I'm not Prejudice or Racist. It's true. My kid's are half Spanish so don't go there. We Left and could afford a Big Beautiful House. Plenty of Land.. We can leave our kid's. We have met so many people that has left for the same reason. Fly out of Miami, you know you're in another City. People actually speak English. Half of them can't vote Miami that's why Florida Red. All the Blue people living a good life. People down there can't afford to buy a house but they complain and stay there. .

When I was growing up in the early 2000s in the Tampa Bay Area, we had mostly orange street lights, some were white, but definitely not purple.

United State wide for over 2 years after they switched to LED lights made in China. I am in Iowa. Make it hard to see in fog and snow conditions.
