Purple Spot Part 3, Hardrock Gold Ore Testing

Ғылым және технология

In Part Three, @mineoperator runs 8 hardrock gold mine samples, starting with the purple spot, Hollywood Vein, and many more. This took two days of milling, tabling and panning gold ore on the Silver Springs shaker table. After we get a weight on all the gold, we melt it down and get a final sample weight.
Hardrock testing takes a lot of effort and long hours. It's not like TV, where you dig and find many ounces. However, in Hardrock gold mining, if you find Mr. Pocket, the reward can be massive.
Thanks for watching, and we hope you like Harry's gold-panning vision.

    People please pound the like button. I am amazed and deeply respectful for these guys dedication to hard rock mining. I just pray every day that they are rewarded with hitting the mother lode for their efforts. I can't find another channel that puts this much effort into pure hard rock mining.

    Harry was attempting to show how the different parts of the systems interface and how we had to engineer/mickey mouse the equipment together. For those of us who started with no experience, there is very little content out there on how these machines fit and work together. We fabricated many versions of this system.

  • @mineoperator

    @mineoperator

    The first test of a place is just as you recommend. Panning, small crushers and drill dust, dump grid testing, channel samples. If that testing goes well, then comes the small batch testing 10lbs and sometimes assays. If that goes well we take a few hundred lbs then tons. If the large testing goes well we go back for larger bulk tests for repeatability. Without a Millsite testing would be very difficult.

  • @mineoperator

    Yes we do. We're currently screen to -1/16" before the table. We really need to screen finer and build an automatic feeder to send over size right back into the mill.

    I'm using my makeshift vibrating classifier to 30 mesh over 55 gallon drum, then I get the ore damp throw fertilizer in the barrel and stir every couple days. In a few months all the sulfides will be roasted without roasting. Keeping lid off barrel so oxygen gets in. Pretty time consuming but I figure if it's going to sit around before processing why not.

  • @mineoperator

    We have the ability, had have done a lot in the past. So far our ores have very little Arsenic. The theory is most of our veins are epithermal with possible secondary enrichment.

  • @mineoperator

    Same here Frank. Some suggest chasing it down where it widens. We have a core drill that could intercept the vein 15' to 20' below the surface. We might give that a try.

    Those results were odd. We ran two bulk samples from that spot and averaged 0.30opt Au. So when I recommended we grab another sample there, it didn't produce the same results. Will have to chase it further as others have stated.
