Calderwood Shop Day - 27 March 2021
Bill installs another reinforcement ring, I dye a drum/miss a glue line/sand the drum, and Jim makes a very brief appearance. Then there is some welding and lots of powder coating with the @eastwoodco gun.

I typically hate powder coated hardware but holy shit that has to be the sexiest rim I've ever seen.

It's a pretty cool powder. Now I want to see it in a gray/black variant.
Purple galaxy does look pretty sweet, but if it was for me, I would have just done a clear coat on the bronze. I guess I'm boring like that. Thanks for sharing your shop adventures!

I agree. We have another set, so hopefully that one goes clear. In the next video, we turn the lugs, vent, throw off, and butt plate purple!
Hi, to do powdercoat on drum lugs/hardware, do we have to remove the chrome plate before we can apply powdercoat? Apologies for newbie question.

You can powdercoat right over the chrome. Clean it well with acetone and plug all the threaded holes.
