Thank you for this! On one note I want to say I know of the Swedish thing. On the more important note: this talk made me realise lyricless music still paints basicly a landscape. It's like explaining how a landscapepainting looks to someone in a communication sense. Without lyrics you're not exactly sure what's going on, but you know if it's night or day. Actually, you also know if the situation is mystical or suspenseful. Thus I don't feel so bad I don't write lyrics anymore. I can still paint pictures in my DAW!

As a songwriter stuck in a sense of meaninglessness personally and professionally, this conversation has been life changing for me. Thank you so much for doing this!

The part about Canadian intelligence researching music to bring peace to the world... shows how un mathematical music really is when it comes to emotion and the effect on humans.. which gives hope to us all once this formula pop music runs it's course. PS: Keith Jarrett could be a good start with endless possibilities..

Holy shit! I just listened to Greg's song where he played all instruments in one take. It's amazing! And his musicianship is incredibly impressive

Wow, this is really interesting. Greg and Nina have the same situation I have with my wife... I du music and production, she is strong with melody and lyrics. We cross that lines often but we FIGHT... just like it was the last thing we do in life. But this go on since 40 years now :) Thank you...

I love the question about the favorite phrase or line. I read old biographies and mine for little turns of phrase that are out of today's vernacular.
