Pure [RAW] sound - Forty Eight 48 - Harley Davidson - Gopro 11

Hey I wanted to try something different. No talking just straight riding. I recently low ended the bike. I've just got it back on the road changed the tires to the Metzler 888 which I must say are sticky and better. Anywho Enjoy the ride.

    Ah man... i just love the 48. I went for my test a few months ago with the intention of buying a 48, im probably too tall and would look stupid on it but one day i will own one! I ended up getting for my first bike a VFR 800 off a friend from work, not my style at all but its got me on the road! Everyone tells me whatever you do, dont buy a harley. I know this is the bike i want one day, when i can afford one! I'll just have to stick to the V4 til i can afford this beautiful evo 48. Nice ride man 🤘

    Ahh what made you feel that way? Foward controls help with having you stretched out on the bike! I was actually in the market for a Yamaha MT07. I had no intention of getting a Harley. Then I rode one and just fell in love with it’s character. It was weird haha, now I own a 48 and wouldn’t swap it for the world. Yeah I would definitely agree and say enjoy the ride you have now, as that was one you was blessed with. In terms of not getting a bike, I learnt the hard way. People who tell you to not get one, more time never owned one themselves. I would of told you to stay away and get a Yamaha but look now I’ve rode a Harley, for the cruiser it is. I would recommend the hell out of it. As my dad would say “Take care of the bike and the bike will take care of you. Don’t let the bike ride you, ride the bike”. Happy to have you here man! Until you get yours, you can enjoy these rides with me. 🦾

    @@nabutani When I just got my 883 I was craving that signature HD potato sound so much, I was choking the engine trying to cruise around at 1700-1900 RPMs. It took some time to get a feeling for the power/torque band and now I rarely go below 2700 and trying to stay closer to the maximum torque levels in the corners at 3300. Letting that v-twin sing away while exiting the corners took some time to get accustomed to, but now it's my favorite. Just curious how you've approached it from the other end a bit, but nothing critical. Enjoy the ride!

    Nice video. Bike sounds awesome! Practice rev matching as you down shift to help you slow down. Also, practice using your rear brake so you don't have to rely or use your front brake until you're almost at a full stop. Think of it as though your front brakes are out and you can only use your rear. This will help you control your bike and speed but most importantly it will help you break the habit of hammering the front brakes unless you absolutely have to.

    @@AudioArcturia I've noticed that my 883 produces the lowest amount of vibrations around the maximum torque level at 3200-3300 RPMs and I never cruise below 2700. Would you say it's still high/stressed levels? Because highway riding on 5th gear easily pushes it to 4200 where I'd need it to sit for quite some time.

  • @AudioArcturia

    @AudioArcturia

    Жыл бұрын

    @@LtKim the 883 isn't made for highway cruising - the 5th gear is more or less an overdrive 4, which is still fine. The biggest enemy to the Evo motor isn't high revs, it's heat. As long as you're going fast enough to keep the engine cool, cruising 5000rpm or more is okay. But you may want to get an oil cooler. The XL1200 Harleys don't have an issue with 5th gear, however. It's a fair bit more stout.
