A never ending horde of souless machines vs the necrons

I'm surprised that the Necron player forgot about the exploding scarabs. That's half the fun of using them. You can choose to blow one up at the beginning of the fight phase and on a 2+ it deals d3 mortal wounds to a target unit in engagement range. If you roll a 6+, you deal d3+3 mortal wounds.

Last few times I went into necrons (with drukhari).. it feels bad when half your army has shot and they're still up. It feels worse when your army's finished shooting and you watch almost the entire blob stand back up in that phase. It just breaks you when its the necron's turn and the remaining models finish standing back up and you realize your entire army's firepower will literally not kill a single unit of warriors and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it

I think that’s the point of the rule lol just focus fire on the specialist units. Typically smaller numbers so easer to remove. Silver tide doesn’t do a lot of damage but Holy Throne do they absorb the pain.

When I face Necron I go FULL ARMOR. All the tanks the Imperium can spare. I will field a baneblade and spam as many blast weapons as I can. It's not that I building an anti-list. Its just necrons will grind you down to a pulp even better than guard (Something they are also known for).

From what I read from others I just wanted to add (from turn 1): - Im pretty sure the ruin rules require you to be wholly within a ruin to see out of it. Popping the tip of the doomsday ark into the ruin makes it so it CAN'T see the guard but the guard CAN see it - Doomsday ark has 2 flayer arrays, so thats 10 shots (20 within half range) not 5 - Doomsday ark flayer has lethal hits so 6s auto wound (so do the warriors, im not 100% sure but i think you didnt take the 6s when the first warriors fired) I get everyone makes mistakes so no shame, its always a lot easier to spot them just watching games :P. Just things to think about in the future. Also correct me if I'm wrong :)

The thing with the Ruin Was Bothering me to, I don't really like this New rule for ruins it makes it really hard for Vehicles to get a LoS

Amazing fight! As a necron player a few minor rules thing popped op that you missed The doomsday ark has 2 gauss flayer arrays making it do twice the shoots The technomancer and Lord/Overlords get the + 1 to hit from being in a lead unit from the detachment rule Nothing gamechanging, just thought i would point it out :) have fun and keep up the funny games! Found the Human tide vs Robot tide theme really funny!

I think the necron player forgot that the doomsday ark array gets 2 attacks. (If it is within half range you could get 20 shots.) Lots of small shots that I think were overlooked.

Those 1st turn necron 5+ were insane. I would have lost it personally as the guard

It's interesting to see the effectiveness of not killing guard infantry to the man as a technique to negate the Reinforcements strat. Of course we can force it some with charges...

Hey hey hey I never said it was simons fault for his necron list the last time, he couldn't have anticipated just how fluffy mordians list was going to be

it seems our friendly necron player has not updated his understanding of veil of darkness, you no longer use it on your turn, you use it at the end of your opponent's turn, then pop up on your turn, this along with forgetting rapid fire and lethal hits

Would love to see this list against another swarm army like orks or tyrannid

Im still wondering if the primaris psycher would help against the doomsday arks. I know it would basically mean 1 squad and a half if you took 3 but a 4+ invulnerability can sure help.

How do people feel about moving trays? They look really handy, however they aren't league friendly and I fear losing the ability to move individual models freely. (i.e. keeping special weapons behind cover etc.)

Why would you keep special weapons behind cover? That's the opposite of what you wanna do. At least assuming you can only partially cover the unit obviously. Much better to keep units in cover you're actually willing to lose earlier, since you can then allocate wounds to them and benefiting from the higher saves. If you only put special weapons in cover, you're either gonna lose them first or not benefit from cover. It's literally the opposite of what you should do.

Something happened it is 360p KZread i blame you Or maybe the necrons wantewd something more akin to the 8bits as they are old robots who knows Or it can be my pc claiming it to only be on 360p well now its solve and i had properly executed it due to this mistake

Great game! If you play him again could you show more of his rolls and movements I’m new to that army and would like to see more gameplay from that side

I reckon the Scions that have to drop in and die are there to regain lost honor in a previous engagement.

Fun BR! Was there a reason necrons didnt take cover against a lot of that guard firestorm in turn 1? AP +1 is cool but easy to get cancelled out by cover.

i dont think he tailored the list to specifically fight necrons. in general autocannons are great if you can back them up with ap- buffs i.e. LR executioner, overlapping fields spam, hellhounds.

I shall continue my humble request for you to try to make pure infantry Tau come to life and somewhat work

Yes pure infantry, my favorite way to play guard. Ok it's probably tied with hybrid tank and infantry.

Fantastic job on creating a beautiful board, and lovely looking armies as well! I wanted to enjoy the battle report, but I was frustrated by the necron player getting his rules wrong in both of his first two activations, which ruined the enjoyment for me, and I stopped watching.
