I never realized before searching for this drama. I watched "General and I" just the other day yet I couldn't recognize him. He may grow a bit older but you can hardly find Chinese actors who changed so drastically while playing a different character. Rather the editor does most of the work. In this drama, the editor didn't sugar-coated the gimmick scenes. If it was any other drama, the sudden kiss scene at 3:58 when he realized the female lead is actually jealous and then couldn't hold back his feelings, they would have done it in slow-mo and from different angles. They would've used music. But in this drama, they did it in the old fashioned way, and it still has such strong appeal. I'm really surprised and enjoyed the drama. Sadly it's underrated.

General Wende is soooo cute as he bats his eye lashes as his Bride…

The more I see him, the more I'm surprised. I've hardly seen a Chinese actor look so different in different roles. They reflect their personality in their every role no matter how different the characters are so everyone has a distinguished type. The top or popular actor or actress is hardly praisable for their acting. It's all about editing . Yet, whenever I look at Chen Wende, I can't resemble him with He Xia who is dependent on AngelaBaby in every strategy he makes. How he sweet-talks with the female lead here is completely different than how he sweet-talked with Angela.

I never realized who is the actor as he is completely different from his previous roles! Great respects. I'm intrigued to watch the full drama.
