Hello everyone. I have a miniature dachshund din named Jasper. He had swimmer's syndrome din and now he's 2 months old na. Gumaling po sya please never give up on them. They deserve more than that. And I understand everything po, I've been there, frustration and confusion - not being sure kung makaka survive ba or how they will be when they grow up kung makakalad ba or lagi nalang naka split. Please don't give up on them, they need you. Do the leg taping technique po and stretch and massage their legs everyday, and let them walk on their own sa surface na hindi madulas, sa mga basahan or towels po, much better. Matagal ang progress pero sa iba mabilis, don't lose hope. Mine took 6-8 weeks.

I have a puppy that has the same condition with him. I’m still trying to help him correct his leg up until now. I really hope it work with him, too. Thank you for sharing this! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you!!! My daschund delivered 7 babies. One weighing 100g. He has died 7 times.... resuscitated 7 times. Only noticed the leg problems last week. I've been googling all sorts of problems. Luxating patella, displayed hips. I've made various braces, supports - you name it! I'm in a remote area and can only get to a vet tomorrow. Your video gave me all the answers and gives me hope!

Omgosh this is great. My puppy was this way when born and we worked with him and he was better...now that he's heaver and 5 months...it has come back. I need a little help making that...do you have a picture that would show it better?

You've done excellent work! So glad this puppy had you and that you didnt give up. I have a kitten with swimmer that i am doing therapy and taping. My kitty does not stay still like your puppy! My kitty is very much wanting to have nothing to do with P.T.. But I am not giving up!

@@KimmyPuppy hi, i'll be trying the rubber band method. The tape didnt do well. My puppy is much likely the same as yours with only 1 weak hindleg. It keeps locking straight when my puppy extend his leg. But his other hindleg works well.

This literally helped So much! Thank you so much for sharing. We did the tape and it wasn’t working. Started to seek help on KZread and the rubber bands made a day and night difference! You rock!🙌🏼

Someone please explain to me in more detail how to use the rubber bands. I have been taping for a week. Taking her to the chiropractor for swimmers. I just know if I'm making progress. Just frustrated, maybe I'm expecting to much to quick. She is 4 weeks. Swimmers is only in back legs.

thank you for the feedback.. :) unfortunately i cant put that much detail into words.. but the very idea is the rubber band and tape should manage to bend the limbs instead of it just being straight.. try to check the vid at 17:56-18:44 time and see where i put the tape and rubber band.. hope that helps.. 😇

thank you! :) btw, for 8 mos puppy, they say it has minimal chance to recover because the bones and muscles are already established.. but you could still try, who knows.. :)

Hello! My puppy has this syndrome how did u make the rubber band brace ?

What if the puppies back knee won’t bend on one side? I’ve been massaging and using warm compress and still can’t get the knee to bend

I saw another video at 2-3 weeks old using tape to catch it earlier x

Please could you let me know how you built your brace? I have a 3 week old dachshund pup doing the exact same with both back legs and the vet basically signed her off today with a death sentence

What type of tape you are using?

Do you have any other photos or videos of this pup in the brace that you created? I have a pup who’s as bad off as this pup and she really needs help with the knee placement. We’ve been doing the ehmer slings, massages and physical therapy which is great but maybe we haven’t been doing it long enough or not enough times in a day.

That would be lovely or even trying to explain how you built it. I’m sure it’s hard but a video showing or even just trying to explain would be incredibly helpful. Our girl is now 5 weeks and still struggling. How many times a day and how long do you do the exercises and massages?

Thanks for this! I-try ko yung rubberband braces kasi parang walang effect yung tape method. Dalawan puppy ko kasi ang ganyan, same din sa puppy mo, yung isang hindleg lang mahina, parang nag i-straightlock siya kapag ineextend nung puppy kaya pag naglalakad, dinadrag nila yung isang hindleg pero nakatutok sa harap yung leg. Sana gumana yung braces method.

Are there normally any other underlying health issues with a puppy who has swimmers syndrome? Can there be a full recovery where the puppy will walk and run normally?

There are no other issues aside from the pup wont be able to walk normally as it grows. As of now our pup (the one in the video) is now walking and running normally.. It just have to be treated as soon as possible.
