I have the white vertical bar playpen and my 3 1/2 month old Goldendoodle can already jump over/out of it. I still have several gates up so the cats feel safe. I just got a storage unit so I could clear out my house and minimize temptation for him 💕

Great DIY!

Just want to add to your yard puppy proofing suggestions. My mums puppy was recently hospitalised for mycotoxin poisoning. The fungi (caused by the organic matter decaying in the compost) produces a neurotoxin called tremorgenic mycotoxins. Things to look out for is vomiting, diarrhoea, and tremors. Pup was uncontrollably shivering/shaking. It was terrifying. If you use compost on your garden, you need to be so so careful that your puppy doesn’t consume it. ensure you find a pet friendly compost because this kills pups

Over head dangers for puppies I live near a river tons of eagle nest and eagles . Small puppies can be a easy food source. Don't leave outside even in fenced yard unattended.

We can teach an older dog the same skills, keep in mind it will take a lot more time for it to stick. For more serious behaviors, we recommend you consult with a positive reinforcement behaviorist.

How often should we let the puppy out of their playpen? We usually let the pup stay in the play pen area for most of the day right now, but should we be letting him roam around the home more often?

My Yorkie pup is 11 months old now and he still wants to go potty every few hours rather than hold it. He will pee in his pen if he is not taken out then so he means it. I still have him in a pen when I can't watch him. Crate at night and he goes through the night dry. I am confused about what I should be doing. I am not a new puppy Mom either. I have had 3 Yorkies, but they are all different. What to do?

I have a seven month old Karelian bear dog. She is limited to one room. The living room. For the most part she is house broken. She continues to pee on my furniture. I take her out about every half hour. Ive had her checked for bladder infections. I don’t understand why she wants to pee on the couch. I have to keep it completely blocked off. Help! Suggestions anyone?

What helped us: Enzyme cleaner for spots that they've already marked; and keeping them crated, because they don't want to potty in their own lair (our puppy starts clawing at gates when they need to go).

That depends on your pup. If he plays with it, gulps it or splashes it everywhere you might want to put only a small amount in a bowl and refill it periodically. We don't want to restrict it entirely but you might want to limit it. Other pups are fine with a bowl of water in the pen. No water in the crate, however.

If it fits the crate as well, it should be big enough for them to move around and stretch in, as well as comfortably hold a few of their toys.
