This is wonderful! Something else I love about it is that you are sitting on a small bench because I'm getting older and all the training videos I watch with puppies show people sitting on their knees on the floor and my knees don't work like that anymore!😂

This is such an AWESOME video! Will be playing/training this with my pup tomorrow! I trained my pup in one of the puppy games by Susan, and it is amazing! she is now recognizing her name. One thing that I must remember is that she is a young puppy, and it may take all day of training and play for her to grasp the lesson fully.

Remember,keep it short and happy potty after then back in xpen water and then more sessions like this and more sleep through the day with potty or feeding and or more training maybe up to five use 75% in training and 25% just in bowl in xpen or puppy's crate never leave your puppy unsupervised in xpen always put in crate like when sleeping throught the night or sleeping in xpen when you can observe your puppy to avoid any injury or issues with xpen and your puppy trying to climb out.

I have had my now 12 week old puppy for exactly 7 days now and I copied this video. He took to the collar with no problem at all in a very short time. I got my 4 year old used to a head halter using the same game. we are in Recallers and home school the Dog, and wag nation, it is hard not to get distracted, I want to learn everything yesterday, it is so interesting and so much fun. I work from home and I am not getting much work done! oh well, as long as I have money for dog food lol

Thanks for this! I have a couple questions: 1) How long of a rest break would you give in between training sessions? And would the puppy be in a crate for the rest? 2) I could imagine many puppies might try to chew almost immediately on the collar or leash- how would I handle that to make sure I'm not actually reinforcing biting collars or leashes? I'd love to see a video of you doing the same thing games with a bitey-er pup :-)

Hello Susan, can you please tell me what to do, if the puppy (9 weeks old) immediately starts biting and chewing the leash if you put it on the ground or if you show him? My other big problem is, that he is just not willing to play with me tug if I train with treats because he is so much focused on treats and he has a very good smell. So even if I put the treats away he can smell them on my hands and around, and he shows zero interest in playing tug! I haven't found anything on this issue in your videos. Thanks in advance for your reply!

If working with an adult dog would you use the same sized bowl? I'll be working up to not just a collar but a head halter and muzzle. I've seen your muzzle training before and just wondered rather than going looking for the video again.

What if, hypothetically of course, the puppy wants to chew on the collar/leash?

I would swap for a toy and redirect the energy, then try again when puppy is a bit calmer. There could be other solutions

I’m going to be getting an English bulldog puppy in a bit over a month. I would like to use a harness as they get big necks that collars seem a bit more difficult for. How would you condition the puppy to wear a harness?

I did this with the brush for grooming. But it didn't go well. 😢

Thank you for this. Do you find certain breeds such as dachshunds more difficult to train? I have heard they don't do things like sit, potty etc.
