Correction: Scoot didn't get sent down to the G League. He was there for a couple days of conditioning in practice after he returned from injury. He didn't play a game down there.

These look great, and I appreciate the price tag. I miss the days when the first signature shoe was a decent price.

I really dig the design, it fits neatly into Pumas current design language, while having its own unqiue touch compared to the All-Pro, Stewie and Melo line.

They're a great looking shoe and it's a great fit with the design language of the Melo line and Puma Hoops. I do like a cohesive approach at times and fingers crossed it's a hit.

Seems that Puma and New Balance have the best value/price ratio now. Plus both of these brands are very consistent when it comes to quality and performance. Quite opposite to "big brands" like Nike and Adidas

I just finished playing for 2 hours in these. Wiping didn't even cross my mind once. Crazy good traction. Also, I'm used to playing in Adidas's bounce cushioning. And I didn't fell any aches when it comes to cushioning. Great budget pair of shoes!

Hahah he chose a different path to get paid for 2 years in the g league (at 17) then was the number 3 draft pick. Definitely some growing pains but probably good for his professional development in the long run to have played in the g league for two years against.professionals while also setting himself and his family up. Love the review and good seeing the budget friendlier price point

Anything other than the oversaturation of Melo shoes from PUMA is welcome. These look like Melo leftovers though but i would try these to play in. PUMA has some solid hoop shoes. Scoot will be fine. Plays the game the right way.

I love this design. I love what they did with the colorway and especially what they did with the puma stripe thing (whatever it's called) I went and picked up my pair today (release day) and they're everything I wanted them to be. I also love the fact that puma went forward and put them out. I was scared that, with the way the season has been going, they'd push the release dates back until he got more games in the league. I'm waiting until the summer to rock these though. And as far as scoot goes, I think he's gotta change his number. That double zero ain't it. He gotta get a regular number

So just wanted to add. Scoot was a top high school player. Didn’t go college. Played for the g-league ignite instead. The NBA G-league alternative for guys that are talented but want to skip school. He said as drafted high pick but he’s been injured and having a tough time. So they put him in the g-league as he gets healthier and can play through the injury still. Ramp him up to be moved up to NBA again. Cool content.

I love the AJ6 but this colorway is quite meh… Too bad because there’s so many possibilities for incredible stuff with this design (« quai 54 » and « single’s day » were cool) but we’re still stuck with quite basic colorways. Even the next black Oreo appears to be worse than the original… 😕

Well ... not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but ... the G-League is basically professional basketball. Similar in that respect to how the EFL has a premier league and all the leagues below it. Even though it's still in its infancy and isn't getting promoted as much by the NBA, it's still more professional than the NCAA, and most importantly the players have more control over their likeness and sponsorship. The NCAA is using the NIL to entice players to keep funding their racket but for pro-level players like Scoot [who already have shoe deals] it makes no sense forgoing all of that just so the NCAA can make more money while they make less. Plus, he gets to play professional basketball in the NBA, and not amateur basketball in the NCAA. It's a no-brainer ... G-league stints or not. He's a professional basketball player. It's his job, a fun job where he gets to be better and make more money. What's the problem/controversial with/about that? Any one of us would do the same.
