@@Skibidibobobeebop we are fortunate to receive pairs early (most of the time) and I have been testing a long time maybe over a 1000 run shoes. I super focus on what I feel how it compares after reviewing stats. Quite rarely do I change my opinion substantially after an initial run but it can happen. Today I ran the FFR again and feel the same as the first run. This one somewhat faster and the front rebound from the Nitro foam is really noticeable as is the support up front from the outsole.

@@PedroLopes-fq3qu Coming soon but as far as my take it stands as in the video. What are your other current favorites?
Outstanding first review as always. This one looks a winner. Will definitely pick up a pair when launched. Love this colourway too. Thanks Ian 🇬🇧
Will be interesting to see the Magnify Nitro 2 as well. Triumph 20 has been rocking for me still and the durability on those is incredible. I too like the front flex and midfoot not too broad for an easier more daily trainer-like transition. The Triumph 20 gives you that bouncy max cushion shoe in a package that doesn't feel bulky, slow, or ponderous. It's sub-10oz, has a great bouncy foam, has some flex, has the max stack, has a good outsole, can be run like a recovery shoe or a daily trainer, isn't too broad or bulky, is stable, and it seems to last forever. Be interested to see if these or the Magnify 2 may compete.
I have the velocity and deviate 2 these look great too
This could be my new shoe for casual walking. I like max cushion shoes for walking.
@RoadTrailRun

It would be very good for walking! Easy to roll and quite stable with of course a really nice bounce from the Nitro foams
It looks like a good comparison would be Saucony Tempus which also wraps softer foam with higher density foam to create a stable/guided ride.
Thanks for the very thorough review. How does it compare to the Saucony Tempus?
Very interesting shoe. Might give it a go after my Invincible v2 give out. It'll be a while....

Close to the same bounce but much more polished upper, ride, and reasonable stability
Puma has seriously stepped their game up the last few years. I have 4 shoes from the nitro line and am torn between these and the Deviate Elite 2 next
@RoadTrailRun

Deviate is more uptempo in feel due to its plate. Depends on what you need next!

Can't complain about Sam's detailed review. But I am probably the rare customer who would love to see this with just a more "blocky" midfoot. I like several things about the shoe, especially the wide platform for stability. Sam loves the trimmed away medial midfoot, but that ruined it for me. My wide midfoot badly over-hangs that puzzling (for a stability shoe) chasm. I am probably one of those midfoot pronators he refers to. Seems unlikely Puma would move future versions in my direction, which is unfortunate for my type of feet. Coulda been a contendah.
@RoadTrailRun
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Indeed they made a choice here away from midfoot stability to rear stability and more midfoot agility. In your case it may be as much your midfoot width or flatter feet as overpronation? I have high arches.
Glycerin 20 for me has been a nice big hunk of solid nitro foam as well . Question if you run outside in the cold: does the nitro foam noticeably stiffen up? excited puma is giving us some awesome competition and starting to become more available at major retailers and just available in general.
@RoadTrailRun
Жыл бұрын
So far for me in cold both midsoles don’t stiffen to much. Outsole can be as much of a factor as rubber for sure stiffens a lot if not segmented and both have “judicious”: amounts of rubber well segmented.
I love the snow used as a shoe rack 😂
@RoadTrailRun

Yup! Always outside on a railing or snow bank. No fancy shoe studio for us!
Thank you so much for the review! Could you please comment on whether you think the shoe would work for a wide foot?
@RoadTrailRun
Жыл бұрын
Might depend. It is a bit pointy way up front but decently wide fitting, due mostly to the soft mesh and easy foot wrapping overlays. I would not say it is a wide, wide fit though.

Thank you!
What is the makeup of the dual nitro midsole as far as the top layer and bottom. Is it eva or tpu/tpe or pebax?
Sounds like a contender for best max cush daily trainer. The invincibles can “pick up” a little, how do these feel at quicker paces?
@RoadTrailRun
Жыл бұрын
Need to run them more but the indoor track is brutal on the legs and I could have gone on “forever” and that compared to Invincible and many others. Not sure “fast” but for sure fun
that looks like a candidate for a good running shoe, for the heavier runner..
How's the toe box feel? Narrow? Wide? Hope they come in a wider fitting. These look amazing. Starting to jog and need a stable shoe.
@RoadTrailRun
Жыл бұрын
Not sure on wide sizing option. Toe box is quite unstructured and broad with soft mesh but a bit pointy. Watch the review for details please

How does this shoe match up with the Shift 3 with respect to stability and cushioning firmness?
The broadness of the midsole is why I can't run in Hokas, it feels like my ground contact time increases significantly and feels like I'm running in blocks.
@RoadTrailRun
Жыл бұрын
Tend to agree! The broadness of midfoot is the key I think. Here they slim it down while remaining supportive and flow forward is great for such a big heeled shoe. Most of the support is at the rear with the midfoot not blocky
Hello , thanks for your video . Very interesting , your estimate of kilometers that can be run .... I suscribed to your video channel .
@RoadTrailRun

Thanks! By Km do you mean in one run or over lifetime of shoe? To both I would say a lot. Plenty of cushion for distance and the Puma Grip is thick and in the past has proved very durable in our testing

@@RoadTrailRun ok thank you
You clearly lost the plot on this review. You are comparing a stability shoe with a giant neutral Asics shoe that seems better for walking than running. I have both and they couldn't be more different on runs. I keep my Asics Nimbus 25 for walking. You incorrectly gave the wrong stack height on the Puma. I get American runners are clueless about German shoes, but please research better. This was an embassing review.
@RoadTrailRun
Жыл бұрын
Both are inherently stable neutral shoes and I carefully measure all heel stack heights and got 40mm for the Puma. Hope i said that in the review! I would agree that at least for me the Puma runs better. We are definitely not clueless about German shoes or any of the smaller European or Asian brands
Good morning for all the runners from 🇪🇸. Good video about the Puma. Like to RoadTrailRun. Have a great day. 🌞🏃🌤️
