Tarantino and Uma Thurman we’re talking about the Kill Bill story while making this movie.
The dialog about the pilot "Fox Force Five" basically inspired "Kill Bill." Umma talked Tarantino into making it a real film(s).

Mayonainese is basically mixed and shaken oil, egg yolk, and a little lemon or vinegar. Why wouldn't it go just fine with french fries?

Because mayonnaise isn’t a particularly good flavor, it’s mostly used in America as a condiment to contrast with dry foods (sandwiches, burgers, etc).. I prefer my fries without any condiments tbh

@@cshepard09 whatever. Mayonnaise is not an American thing. Don't know how they use it in america, or what cheapo mayonnaise they use. It's however a European thing.
I think the point of the watch scene, besides being absurdly funny, is that Butch was taught something about honor. Walken's character even says something like "when two men are held prisoner". So later, when Butch can easily leave, his choice to go back makes sense. He winds up in that pawn shop because he went back for the watch. That watch story ties it all together. The pawn shop scene itself is inspired by a scene in a movie called Deliverance. Tarantino does like borrowing ideas from other movies. It doesn't bother me because I think he does use what he borrows in his own way, so it's not just stealing ideas.
2:57 Bruce Willis basically got this movie made. He had seen Reservoir Dogs, called up his agent and said "Whatever this guy's next movie is, I want to be involved." And because Bruce Willis was involved, that made it very easy to get all the other "names" involved, which made it very easy to pre-sell the movie overseas. They did about $18 million in pre-sales, and gave Tarantino $6 million to make the movie, so it had already made a profit before they ever shot one frame.
The guy whom Vega accidentally shoots in the face is *Phil Lamarr.* Among many others, he's the voice for *Hermes (Futurama), John Stewart (Green Lantern) and Samurai Jack.*
To paraphrase what Tarantino said about his his movies not being in order, particularly Pulp Fiction. He said he likes to give you the answer first and then the question.
the movie was set in the 80s
This and Trainspotting are the 2 greatest films of the 90's...
Next Quentin Tarantino movie should be Reservoir Dogs.
French fries with mayo is great... but garlic mayo is a whole different level
A little trivia... In Jack Rabbit's... Mia asks "can you roll me one of those, cowboy?" Vincent replies "you can have this one, cowgirl" Travolta was in Urban Cowboy Thurman was in Even Cowgirls Get The Blues
25:43 Vincent's always in the bathroom because constipation is a side effect of Heroin use.
Zed was the villian in the movie called 'The' Mask, where-as the drug dealer, was the main character in the movie called Mask. I think the Fox Force Five pilot is also a hint toward Kill Bill along with the sword from the pawn shop.

Oh, shit! I didn't realize that. I've seen Mask. Good movie. So, that's Rocky Dennis' actor? Neat!
I think Tarantino's best dialogue is in Jackie Brown (1997). If you love dialogue, I recommend checking that movie out.
31:10 & 32:41 - I think this has a lot to do with the central theme of the film. Throughout the film, Tarantino is basically presenting various moral, ethical, and social codes of behavior, but all within the context of this underbelly crime world. In essentially every scene we get some kind of look into one of these and how they work in this world. And one of the most paramount examples of this is Jules reaction to not getting hit by any of the rounds when the guy jumps out of the bathroom. Jules sees this as some kind of sign and religious awakening in his life and decides to leave the life. And we end the film on Jules revisiting that passage from Ezekiel he always quotes and telling Tim Roth that he's trying real hard to be the shepherd. In comparison, Vince doesn't see any meaning behind that moment where they survive being shot at and as a result he winds up staying in the business. Which is why he ends up going to Butch's apartment with Marcellus, and why he's there to get shot by Butch when he comes out of the bathroom. So Tarantino is giving us a clear comparison between Jules and Vince and the ultimate consequences that beset them based on their different reactions to that event. But if Tarantino had presented the movie in the chronological order of the plot, we don't really get the same kind of cohesive emphasis on this theme. Jules's monologue about the Ezekial passage and how he's trying really hard to change is one of the pillar scenes of the film. At no other point in the film is the theme more heavily stated than here. But if the film had gone in chronological order, this would have happened more towards the beginning of the film. And then everything that happened with Butch and Vince and Mia all would have followed it, and the film would have just ended with Butch driving away with Fabienne. So by ordering the plot as he did in this film, Tarantino is able to outline the central theme in a much more dramatic and meaningful way. He gives you all sorts of glimpses into how ethical codes exist in this crime world and then gives us the most dramatic examination of morals at the end in the confrontation between Samuel L Jakson and Tim Roth at the diner.

Belated 👏👏👏. QT is as much of a stealthy moralist filmmaker as the Coen brothers. These reactors would probably have understood the film better if they chattered less over the dialogue and silences. This film (like most 20th century cinema) was designed for the dark and quiet of the movie theater.
Very cool reaction! Love you guys! Definitely hit his first movie (Reservoir Dogs) and his next (third) movie (Jackie Brown)! You're going to like both of those! "Inglorious Basterds" also! But DEFINITELY his first three movies are, in my opinion, his best. I particularly love "Jackie Brown".
This film is about 'second chances'.... and Bruce Willis was the guy who keyed Travolta's car, for insulting him at the bar. Jackson was nominated for an Oscar...most felt he should have won.
Still a great reaction to my favorite movie, even a year later. And in case you were wondering, yes, they do sell those wallets, I carry one to this day. It's my BMF lol. Good reaction.

Or maybe he's just going to the bathroom? The first time he goes to the bathroom is to take a piss. AFTER dinner. If he had gone to the bathroom like 8 or 9 times, you might be on to something but I think you are falling into the trap of thinking EVERYTHING is significant. He goes to the bathroom because it's necessary to get him out of the room for the sake of the story.

@@Col_Fragg Or maybe opiates literally cause constipation and Vince spent a significant of time sitting his ass on a toilet? Or do you think Tarantino and Avery were actually ignorant of the effects of drug use and just made Vega a heroin addict who spent copious time on the shitter coincidentally? They do a few classic 60's dance moves at the Jackrabbit. The Swim, the Pony, the Twist, and probably a few more that I never heard about.
a lot of pop culture in their dance, The Batman , Twist , swim and pony
17:27 the movie is called The Losers from 1970 is was also released as Nam's Angels. Your basic Hells Angels bikers fighting a Vietnam POW camp kind of thing.
The guy who plays Marcellus Wallace was also in The Fifth Element as well as the Dawn Of The Dead remake. Also, the guy who plays Marvin is also the guy who voices Dracula in Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Sig in the Jak & Daxter games, Wilt in Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Samurai Jack, Static Shock, Osmosis Jones, the black Green Lantern in Justice League, the black guy weather forecast IT'S GON RAIN guy in Family Guy, Hermes Conrad in Futurama, Bolbi in Jimmy Neutron, tons of voices in Kim Possible and Star Wars The Old Republic, he has a blink and you'll miss it cameo in Step Brothers. Dude is in everything. The restaurant robber, Ringo, is played by Tim Roth who was Mr Orange in Reservoir Dogs as well as Abomination in the live action Incredible Hulk movie, and he was Guildenstern in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are dead.
Reservoir Dogs is probably my favorite of his. Fantastic movie.

That closing monologue is one of the best movie scenes of all time.
In my opinion, this soundtrack has to be in everyone’s top ten.
True Romance. Without a doubt. You guys will love it. It was Tarantino's first script and it's absolutely loaded with actors.
"The Sixth Sense" is my favorite Bruce Willis film.
Please react on some Indian movies like 3 idiots , PK , Dangal , kumbalangi nights , Bangalore days , Andhadhun , Mathu vadalara , Kaithi , Agent sai srinivasa athreya , Queen, Barfi , Asuran , Visaranai ,Drishyam. Please react on at least one of them . You will love them .
Though "Reservoir Dogs" is Quentin Tarantino's first film and very good, "Jackie Brown" is even more awesome. You should also check out "True Romance" and "Curdled." He wrote the former and produced the latter. I would call "True Romance" the love story that Tarantino wrote, and "Curdled" is the love story that he wished he wrote, which stars Angela Jones, the taxi driver who drove Butch from the fight in Pulp Fiction. Enjoy!
Nice reaction! Also, try some fries with mayo, it's 👌
For the viewer, consider enlarging the picture that you are watching.
In Kill Bill, the brother pawns his sword. In this movie, Butch finds it.
@dennydowling2169

Except that Bill's brother (Bud) did not pawn the sword. That was just something he told Bill. We know this because 'The Bride' finds it during the fight in Bud's trailer and points it out to Elle, her opponent, saying "I guess that makes him a liar now, don't it?".
The red car Vincent drove and the wallet Jules has both belong to Tarantino. The car was stolen during filming and wasn't found for almost 20 years. If you have watched Kill Bill 1 and 2 you know what happens to Jules.
I want to see a spin off movie of Jules "walking the Earth", like the old kung fu tv show.

Vincent was always in the bathroom because heroin users often have severe constipation. Heroin and being an a-hole to Butch when they first met and ignoring the sign of God is why he died. Butch's chance encounter with Marcellus when he tries to run him over is not a chance meeting. Those doughnuts he had were for Vincent.
2 little known facts that ended up on the cutting room floor. Vince and Mia did not win the contest, they stole the trophy on the way out. The other thing is Marvin was working for Marcellus and was a plant into that group, which is why they didnt kill him in the apartment and was an even bigger mistake shooting him in the face. And Vincent didnt leave his gun outside in Butch's apartment. It was Marcellus' gun he left to go get donuts.

Ohhhhh, people on heroin do VERY WELL at being functional while smacked out of their heads or just maintaining. They know what they're doing, much of the time. Driving would probably not be advised, but since people can drive drunk or really stoned, it wouldn't surprise me that they can manage it.
