One time it was snowing, and I bought a doughnut from a bakery, and I saw these two pigeons that looked really cold and hungry, so I broke off a couple bits of my doughnut for them, and also gave them some water. I walked past the same spot about half an hour later, and the pigeons were still there. As soon as they saw me, one of them flew onto my hand, and just chilled out for like 5 minutes. He was a real sweet boi, and was happy to let me pet him. Some guy walked by and wanted a selfie with the pigeon. After a while I found a sheltered spot, and got the little boi to hop off. That was such a neat day. Edit: Just to address the commenters who have been saying that you shouldn't feed pigeons-Yes, it is healthiest for pigeons to forage for their own food. However the day when I met those two pigeons, there was like 2 feet of snow, and there was no exposed ground where they could have gotten food. Thanks for your enthusiasm for pigeons everyone! I love pigeons. I remember as a child collecting their feathers when i found them. "You'll get sick! They're full of diseases" everyone would say. No they weren't and i never got sick. Pigeons are not good carriers of disease at all. some people call them 'rats with wings' but that simply isn't true. They are actually very intelligent and are very good parents. Both mum and dad raise their babies together. And they're tough too! They're very hardy, resilient birds and they have such a sweet disposition. They are doves and have the most amazing homing abilities. Pigeons have photographic memories which is why they are so amazing at finding their way home over vast distances, and sadly that's also what makes them susceptible to cars. They get hit by traffic quite a lot and people say its because they're stupid. They are not stupid. It's because they see the world in snapshots. They see a car coming towards them and it's like a slide show. It appears to them that they have more time to react than they do which is the problem. It makes them excellent navigators though and during world war 1, Pigeons got so many medals for flying through german gunfire and surviving due to their toughness and resilience

Those are the chunkiest pigeons I have ever seen
