Pukas Lady Twin Surfboard Review

Спорт

The Pukas Lady Twin is another work of genius form the legend that is Axel Lorentz. Strange name but a great board! The Lady Twin looks like its a lot of fun to surf and take it from us, it is! Its fast and responsive and will work in a wide range of wave types and sizes for a lot surfers.
The board has a whole heap of design features that look amazing but are not there for aesthetic reasons but to make you enjoy surfing this board even more. The tail channels are there to give instant acceleration and better grip on the wave, this means you can push the Lady Twin harder without fear of spinning out. The rails are paired down to give faster more precise turning, the way this all works makes you feel your riding a board 6 inches shorter. All this is very exciting of course but the other key factor is that the board paddles as well as anything else out there so a high wave count is nailed on.
Competent surfers will love this latest offering from Axel Lorentz, It's a brilliant wave catcher on the smaller days and the fast paddle speed and tail channels will get you out of trouble when the bigger more challenging waves arrive. Fin wise try the excellent Son of Cobra twins, a brilliant all round fin.
Axel Lorentz is a Pukas master shaper with 20 years experience mowing foam. Every now and then Axel travels to California and shapes in Bali, but he spends most of his time at the Pukas factory in the Basque Country, Spain.
Axel has the uncanny ability to shape boards that immediately feel right under the arm, perfectly balanced and blessed with beautiful lines and curves that surf as good as they look.
You can of course order a customised version of this board choosing your own preferred dims, fin set up and system (check out our 'Custom Board Builder' on the Boardshop home page). All you need to do is pump in the details and pay a £100 deposit with the balance due when we send you the board, average build time is 6-8 weeks. We aim to trial every board we stock so why not give us a ring on (44) 01243 674250 or drop us an email for some 'hands-on' feedback.

Urrrgh, I'm a bit on the fence choosing either the 7'0 or the 7'2. The Lady twin will take the place of my 6'0 (semi Classic) fish (approx 42l) that is starting to fall apart. I wouldn't mind a tad more paddle power but am weary of losing duck divability (I'm 1.83, 85kg, full on mid-life crisis ;-) ). Ideally it would give me a larger lower end for the not so great/ mushy days without becoming too much of a log. My shortboard tendency is to go for the 7'0 but will that still give me the additional paddling power? What say yee (and the experts here)?
