I ❤️ San Juan. However, next time rent a car and head over to the West coast (Isabela, Aguadilla, Rincón, Cabo Rojo, etc.). Beautiful beaches, chill restaurants, and less expensive.

Thanks Mayra! You are right. In PR, I was on vacation. When I was in Medellin, I was 3 months into full time traveling and was pretty tired. San Juan and Medellin are also different vibes and as a traveler I have places that I like more than other

I truly had so much fun in San Juan and definitely getting ant to return to explore the rest of the country. The people are also so kind and welcoming which always make the experience of traveling to a new place even more memorable

OK so when you go to get a Mallorca you should go to Café Mallorca. I see you went to the café earlier in your video but you did not order it there just a heads up they do make the best Mallorca much sweeter

My wife and I enjoyed your video. We're going to (hopefully) be in Puerto Rico in a week. I was wondering how many places asked you to show proof of vaccination and/or negative Covid test and what did they accept? I have a PDF and QR Code from where I got mine, but I don't have the little 'CDC Card' anymore. Just wondering what they accept as proof. Thanks again for sharing your video!

Hi Joe, thank you for watching! Most restaurants we went to in Old San Juan asked to see our vaccination card. For our excursion to Icacos Island, we had to upload our vaccination card via email. I had my card with me the entire time, so I cannot personally speak to having your card on your phone. However, from my experience in Paris, having a photo of your proof of vaccination “should” be ok. I hope you and your wife get to go, Puerto Rico is magical!

I loved your travel blog! Because of it I am thinking about booking with East Island Excursion, and I saw that you said they pick you up but do they also take you back or do you need to find a way back to your hotel?

Thank you Karen! For $20/person, they pick you up and drop you off. Keep in mind, this adds an extra hour to travel time, depending on where your pick up location is at. Still worth it and yo can just sleep :) And $20 is a bargain considering its quite a drive!

Hi Natlee, thanks for watching! It took about 2 hours on the bus (with all pick ups from the hotel). Otherwise, it would be less than an hour with your own car/Uber.

Thanks for posting but my husband and I travel many places but Puerto Rico was not my favorite - we tried so hard to love it but the food was not good at all. Drinks were nice in some places. Beaches were not as beautiful as expected. At least we can scratch it off our bucket list. We stayed at the Wyndham Rio Mar resort and it was beautiful. We pretty much enjoyed the stay there

I don’t disagree, food was a hit or miss. If it was good, it was GOOD! If it was bad, it was badddddd. Trial and error 😅

I was excited when I saw you stayed at El Colonial because that’s where we’ll be staying when we visit! Thanks for the tour and tips! Oh, I have a question! What car rental place did you use? We read so many bad reviews.

You’re right. We also read a lot of bad reviews. The first one we booked with tried to charge for all these crazy things so we just cancelled and literally went next door. You just have to be firm with them that you’re not going to pay for all the extra. I’ll get back to you with the name of the rental company I used!

I’m glad you visit my country. I am glad that you like it but San Juan is overrated & expensive and the food ain’t traditional Puerto Rican food.You will need visit my hometown rinco& Aguadilla so that way you can experience Puerto Rico for real.Great rentals and awesome food.❤

Thank you Natalia and I’m very happy you found it helpful for your upcoming trip! We rented the car for a day and went to 2 places on the day of. Skipped the first one because they wanted to charge us for a bunch of things. We drove from San Juan to El Yunque and didn’t have any issues, pretty easy and straightforward. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to driving around anywhere else. Have a safe and wonderful trip to PR!
