Puella Magi Madoka Magica Movie- Madoka's farewell to Homura English Dub

Фильм және анимация

To be honest, I'm surprised that NO ONE HAS UPLOADED A SCENE about madoka's goodbye to homura. Also I'm glad that they edited Madoka and Homura to have magical cloth because it kinda bother me when they were magically naked.

    Sailor Rebecca That doesn't justify what homura did! She tried to stop what was the inevitable! Why? Because it's still madoka's choice in the end. What the fuck girl? Really look at what's going on. I understand where you're coming from homura but seriously? Life hurts. We already know that but some of us chose to keep living for the people we love and lost. So why not respect what madoka did to save you and everyone she cares about?! Geez, even sailor moon, yugioh, yuno gasi, & mlp make more sense than this bs.

    After watching this and listening to Madoka’s theme, I get why Homura does what she does in Rebellion. It’s because Madoka actually didn’t want to go. Yeah, she’ll see the other girls eventually, but she won’t see her Mom, Dad or Tatsuya ever again. She’ll never have a normal life. But she puts on a brave face for Homura and every other magical girl’s sake. People may hate Homura for her actions, but she ultimately fulfilled the wish Madoka asked her; to keep her from being tricked by Kyubey, even if it means essentially putting her in a dollhouse and hoping she never remembers and proceed to kick her ass for trapping her.

    >I get why Homura does what she does in Rebellion. It’s because Madoka actually didn’t want to go. It doesn't make sense if you see what Homura says and accepts in the epilogue though, Madoka's role in Rebellion makes even less fucking sense and basically just erases all her character development completely. The ending of Rebellion was forced by the studio because they wanted to have another sequel after it hence why it really doesn't actually make any sense within the Madoka/Homura story arc.

    KironVB you’re forgetting that Homura turns into a witch. Rebellion was supposed to end with them being happy together but I don’t think that matches Homura. She’s ridden with sadness so there’s no way she’d be able to be happy right now. Even with Madoka in this new world she’s not completely happy and she’s losing strength quickly

I didn't like Mami the first time I watched and I was sure she isn't truly dead, so I didn't care that much in Ep 3. Only felt sad for Mami in the next episodes, when I noticed she was not coming back. Also, Episodes 6 and 7 made me really sad and uncomfortable because of what was happening with Sayaka.

    It is interesting that homura firstly (whatever) does mention that madoka won't have her friends and family. She talks about not remembering or seeing her after that, which kinda points to her selfishness but she still prioritizes madoka's normal life first. I love this show too much.

    "When she's coming to take Homura with her, she's still in her human form" Go watch that scene again, she's clearly the law of cycles in that moment. Also, since Madoka can see ALL the possible universes, that means she should have been able to see what would happen after she left Homura's witch barrier, so that means she should have been able to see Homura's actions. Then: 1) Either Madoka saw this, and let Homura take a part of her. or 2) It IS a plothole. (Actually the biggest plot hole of rebellion).

  • @jacobsmith4428

    @jacobsmith4428

    7 жыл бұрын

    As far as I can consider, Madoka is in a state that is above the multiverse in a sense. She knows what paths each possibility might take, but it's possible that she doesn't know her own future since she, by all rights, doesn't exist in space and time. As a result, anything she does to the multiverse changes it in a way that she won't necessarily see coming until she's done doing it. So, when she goes down to take Homura, she's essentially creating countless possibilities in real time that she can't really account for until she's done altering it with her mere presence. As a result, she couldn't have seen Homura's heel turn coming until the moment that possibility happened, or that Madoka takes a step back to see what her current actions will result. God, it's a mindfuck just trying to explain this. tl;dr. Madoka can see the universe's future, but not necessarily her own.

  • @SonyShock

  • @andreimircea2254

    @andreimircea2254

    9 ай бұрын

    @@asyasvet There are a few issues with that, and I would like to kindly address them: 1) Madoka can see the future as a goddess. So her being split apart by Homura was done willingly. 2) Madoka has proven that she can and will lie to comfort others (like how she kept quiet about Sayaka’s grief seed, but used it on Homura after realising that she was losing is as death came close to her). 3) The creator said himself that ik the flower field scene Madoka wasn’t influenced by Homura at all, only her memories were missing. 4) The show constantly give us hints that Madoka is a very sad goddess. “Mata Ashita” is basically Madoka’s theme (kinda like how “Connect” is Homura’s). In “Mata Ashita” Madoka sings of how she lied to her friend about seeing them again and that she is really lonely. Speaking of the previously mentioned flower scene, in it, Madoka, free of her memories, admits that she would hate being a goddess because it would get too lonely and couldn’t stand to see Homura that sad. Which means she made her wish because she had to in order to save the city, not because she wanted to. With all of this in mind, Madoka was not really feeling like a girl boss as a goddess and being able to only see the multiverse, but not interact with it was getting to her.

Would have helped her to know that even if her family and old life were forever gone- at least she could be there to personally manufacture some sort of happiness for her (and you know she would have, considering everything else she did in the name of Madoka's happiness). As opposed to sending her back, Homura accidentally slipping what happened to Kyuuby, and the whole issue of not letting herself be taken in by the Law of Cycles while they were watching to confirm Madoka's existence.

I think that comment is true because Cristina Vee(who dub Homura) said that she thought that homura is going to be one of the monotone type character, but later realize that homura hide her emotions.

    ***** Aww, really? That sucks. While going through the pmmm wiki I read about how the Japanese VAs get so attached to their characters, so it's unfortunate that the English don't get to. But looking at this clip (and the few others you posted) I'm going to assume that they finally got the time to get invested. (I hope)

    ***** Everyone was kept in the dark about the characters though. Same with the original Japanese dub here. Everything was meant to be a surprise for the cast and crew, so Mami's voice actors didn't know she would die, Homura's didn't know about her past, etc. The English dub wanted it to be authentic to the way the original one was done so the directors also kept their voice actors in the dark. Which is a real shame to me, because both Japanese and English sounded really fat and uninvolved IMO, but it's definitely a good thing that they improved the voice acting this time around.

    zap b You nailed it. Both Japanese and English actors were going into this blind and it was done on purpose. So for Western fans not to criticize the Japanese dub (TV airing) for being equally bad is straight bias because I myself found it bothersome. e.g With the exception of the veteran actors for Mami and Kyubey, the rest of the cast was off and this was the same for English, but once I found the reasons behind both it didn't bother me anymore and I became rather impress with how things were directed. The actors had to grow to know the character instead of knowing who they were ahead of time.

    people saying madoka really didn’t want to make this sacrifice & that homura was in the right for doing what she did in rebellion are completely ignoring madoka’s development & madoka’s whole character completely. she made the sacrifice because she wanted to, she felt as if she had no meaning up until now, & when she knew her wish could change the fate of the universe, & she knew the fate of all magical girls, she knew she had to help. madoka was able to create hope in a world filled with despair. granted, her hope isn’t the most stable thing, but it’s a start . a good start. & madoka was prepared to make it happen. edit: ironically enough homura is the reason madoka feels this way, because homura has taken away all of madoka’s agency in so many timelines in an attempt to keep her from becoming a magical girl. if you watched your friends die & you could do nothing to help/stop it, you’d have some self esteem issues i bet

    calacalamari but in rebellion with the real Madoka in Homura’s labyrinth, Madoka said she would never leave her friends even if she had to. I don’t know if she herself knew that her wish would be a sacrifice. That her wish would create a paradox and make her become a god. She did accept it in the end because of her character and the circumstances, but I don’t think she expected any of that

    Natasha Tides she was even informed by kyuubey that this wish would make her a god, a concept, & madoka was completely okay with that. in rebellion, when madoka says she couldnt of handled a sacrifice like that, madoka is only saying what homura wants to hear. madoka’s memories are being influenced by homura’s labrynth. homura wanted to hear validation of her thoughts & madoka was there to give it.

    you can clearly see how homura is depressed here , i mean she litarally traveled 100 timelines to save madoka , and all the previous resaults were brutal fails , and even though she somewhat prevented madoka from destroying the world as a witch , it caused madoka both her humanity and existence .

    I just realized this scene is censored?? They gave them some dresses but the anime has them implied as nude. I prefer the anime version more lol. It has much more of a personal, vulnerable feel to it- it's more intimate.

    From what I remember at least in logic of Sailor Moon (tho I heard this like years ago, so I probably don’t remember everything but like-) nudity in a non-sexualized setting for anime is suppose to imply purity and vulnerability in an emotional stance, usually innocence is at play too… tho this is more if the nudity is kinda silhouetted, as In you aren’t suppose to see like nipples, crotch gross shit. Then it’s kinda like… why- ye know? Tho outside Japan, uh, nudity especially with established not-adult characters, censors will come in anyway, at least here it wasn’t a black bar or something distractions, they got pretty kinda lace cloth dresses and white sparkles.
