The way we usually make duck is we cut them into fritters and fry them and get a bbq sauce mix and they are the best

Public land duck hunting is something else. I used to go with my dad and guys from our old church and oh my goodness! We were in a small marsh but Id reckon there were over 400 hunters in a mile stretch of marsh. The moment one gun went off all hell broke loose... I'm talking easily a thousand plus rounds in the first ten minutes.

Fresh duck, doesn't get any better. We have woodies for days down in SC, and fresh woodie with salt and lemon pepper cooked medium rare in some butter and thrown on a fresh biscuit.....YEAH BUBBA!!

Couple things to anybody wanting to chase teal- first, learn to teal call instead of just a mallard. You can use the same call with a different cadence, but you'll turn more birds. Mojo doves are also killer. Second- a flock will send a scout to land first, then the rest will swing once and drop in. You can kill a lot more of the birds in range if you wait for a single swing, instead of picking off singles on the swing. Lastly- for ducks, rare = tender steak. well-done = tough liver. Thanks for not overcooking the birds, and good luck to everybody this season!
