I hope everybody knows that Australia has a sign that says: welcome to Australia there are no freebies here you will be expected to get a job and work. Nothing wrong with that

I think the test should be whether or not you rejected benefits or were so stingy you let your next of kin suffer without sufficient food, education, medical care and necessities. if you did this at anytime you should be deported immediately. we need kind caring people in the US, not more psychopaths. apparently our US govt is filled with psychopaths right now

Hello i wanna ask you something about my petition. Actually my eife has applied for me and she’s getting food stamps and she’s living in low income house but we do have a joint sponsor. Would that affect on me or not? We are already in the nvc stage.

I agree! Why should we pay for immigrants to get cash assistance food stamps Medicaid etc??! I know damn right if they were to get a job we would make around the same salary and even with a child I am not eligible for any of that.

@James Henry Smith I didn't know that the President of the United States was enumerated by the US Constitution as a "Public Charge". Let not your heart be troubled... he'll move out of the WH at the conclusiom of his second term. And he won't need to move his Mother-in-law with him. as did his predecessor. BTW... are YOU a "Public Charge"?

So it's based on money, right? Maybe I missed it. Did the video mention the actual change to the definition of the rule in already in place? I believe you have to prove that you are making 62k a year and if you are not, how will you support your household so that you are not a burden on the country. Furthermore, it gives so many "workarounds". Can't wait to see if it will be affective once everyone actually understands this new interpretation. PT 45 knows how to get in and out of contracts and around the law, so he left holes... I wonder who can find them in this?

People from other countries need to stop whining about this Public Charge, most American baby boomers never were on government assistance and it made us stronger for it. My husband and I have been together over 47 years; we were barely 17 and 19 years old when we got married and never got any government assistance. My husband even paid for the births of our children, he didn't leave the bill to the government; that's a Big reason why he loves his children because he took care of them financially from the start. A Father is a Father and a Mother is a Mother; not the government. Everyone coming into this country should start learning responsibility for their self needs. Life was hard back then too but, we understood that we had to save up for 9 years before we could buy a nice brick home and that's what we did. Majority of People coming into our country jump into a nice Big brick home right away then, expect the government to supply them with cash assistance for the bills and food stamps; they need to go back to their countries and try doing that. I guarantee you they can't do it. I know a very young couple from another country, through a friend, that has driven a new car (of their picking) every year and they laugh about their government assistance paying for it. So, "Are you an American struggling to make your car payment and still think that people from other countries should continue to have the government make their car payments?"

The public charge rule directly impacts individuals who are lawfully present, yet will indirectly impact other classes of people, most significantly, US Citizen children.
