Public Affairs: The Israel-Hamas War with Daniel Pipes, Ph.D. and Joshua Krasna Ph.D.

Ойын-сауық

The attack inflicted on Israel by Hamas terrorists and the Israeli military retaliation has shaken the Middle East and created new tensions on international alliances and politics. It has also created new conflicts within American society. As a result, there has been a pause in the negotiated normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia. This second major international military action continues to distract from the war in Ukraine, while China uses both conflicts to promote anti-Western propaganda, and Iran's support for regional and international terrorism grows. As the Israeli Defense Force roots out Hamas in Gaza, there are humanitarian concerns for Palestinian women and children with ramifications for future peace negotiations. This program will present a panel of speakers, including Dr. Daniel Pipes (Ph.D., Havard), President of the Middle East Forum and historian and author, to discuss the roots of the War through a national security lens and Dr. Joshua Krasna who is a 2023 Templeton Fellow and Senior Fellow in the Foreign Policy Research Institute's Middle East Program. He was posted as a diplomat for Israel during a 30 year career, and he has taught at NYU's Center for Global Affairs.
