I remember one time my dad was washing the dishes and I accidentally grabbed his shoulder and he flipped me over and almost broke my arm..... but he is getting better now , having a small dog 🐕 really helped him

@@enterthedragon9427 i agree 100% i have ptsd myself. not because of war but because of soms trauma's in life. I fullyrespect and honor veterans and could not compare my situation vs lets say a tunnel rat veteran. i get your point. :) wish your mom the best.

Carl Dishneau what exactly do you mean I don’t mean to try to uncover that lid more but my dad suffers from PTSD and like a lot of strong fathers you won’t even notice that he has any problems but he’s told me that he battles those demons. He does suffer from it and I’d just like to know what you and others feel so I could be much more understanding towards him. He kinda describes it the same way you say. The lid just comes off and you feel those bad, horrible things just unleashing

I went to Baghdad in 2008 and I found afterwards that I don't like big crowds, don't like anyone touching my shoulders especially coming from behind me because I see that as a threat and get startled and I always have my back towards the wall. Loud sudden noises trigger me and I get vigilant, hands sweaty and takes me awhile to relax. And when I'm in a room with the door shut and someone comes into a house. My mind races with so many scenario like is that a good guy or a terrorist.

One of the guys I work with is former MP and was deployed 4 times over seas to Afghanistan and Iraq (2 tours per country) he’s not very old either he’s in his mid 30’s, so every time he wants to talk about it I always make it a point of listening just sitting down and hearing what he has to say just to get it off his chest the stuff he’s told me are horrid and I can’t begin to imagine going through such things, but it’s the smallest thing like this can be the difference between him living and him thinking of ending it all, the latter is the last thing I want for him. Veterans are my conquering hero’s and I treat them accordingly

I'm 52 years old, a US Marine combat vet and I am 70% rated for PTSD by the VA. I have no friends except my dog and feel alone all the time. The VA mental health unit at my VA helps me but I am still very lonely. Update: the VA increased my rating to 100% P and T for PTSD last fall.

What do you think you kill people and justify it because it's "in the name of" or "for our own good" or "for our country" no one has the right to take someone life.. Btw I am talking about attacking and killing people who didn't do anything, if someone attacks you then you have the right on him (him alone) to defend yourself.
