राग - सालगवराली कर्नाटक संगीतातील हा राग "षडविधमार्गिनी" मेल द्वारा उत्पन्न झाला. या थाटाला उत्तर भारतीय संगीतात खट मारग म्हणतात. थाट - षडविधमार्गिनी जाती - षाडव वादी - प संवादी - रे गायन वेळ - दिवसाचा दुसरा प्रहर विशेष - आरोहात निषाद दुर्बल ठेवावा. राग लक्षण ग्रंथात या रागाचा उल्लेख सापडतो. संगीत पारिजात ग्रंथात मेघनाद या नावाने याचा उल्लेख सापडतो. श्रीकृष्ण नारायण रातांजनकर यांनी या रागाची निर्मिती केली. संदर्भ - अभिनव गीत मंजिरी भाग 3 श्रीकृष्ण नारायण रातांजनकर

As per my knowledge Raga Salagvarali is probably a South Indian Raga mastered by the genius of Abhishekibua. I also feel the Natyapad ' Ghehi Chanda Makaranda ' from the play Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is also based on this raga. Dr. Dilip S.Naik.

This is raga derived from Carnatic Paddhati. It belong to Natakapriya Mel (Thhaat). It has Bhupal Todi in Poorvang and Kafi in Uttarang. ri, dha and ni komal. As it has Todi ang, it is also called Saalag Varaali Todi.
