Thank you for providing an in depth video series. I've had factory training on Stanadyne, Delphi, Zexel, Denso and Bosch diesel pumps and injectors but I don't have much experience on gas carbs. Your step by step approach is the best way for anyone to learn how to clean and rebuild this carb. Great job!

Had fuel leaking out of hose on bottom of carb.Watched your video and was able to make repair by myself instead of taking to a dealer.Piece of rubber hose under float needle just as you advised.Removed debris ,cleaned everything, reassembled no more leak.THANKS for great video and pic quality.

I have the same ATV, that sat for years too. I followed his video, and did everything like he said. It started right up! The only thing that I had trouble with was getting the intake tube out. It sure didn't come out as easy as the one he worked on!! But for an old lady, I think I did pretty good!

Just want to thank you for saving me about $100 in a trip to the atv repair shop and giving me a better understanding on how to work on atv carbs, I had a fuel overflow issue where gas was draining out the bottom reservoir of the carb and after taking it apart and cleaning it no more leak. I did research and found it was something to do with the needle Not seeding correctly and triggered a gas overflow. Now she runs better and idles better too!

Good video. I've watched other Honda ATV "carburetor rebuild" videos and they gloss over some things and completely leave out other important information. You do a great job discussing each component, what it's function is, and how to inspect, clean and replace. Very helpful. Thanks.

Great video... Much better than any others I have seen. You saved me, because I had the carb off of my 400, and I had taken out all the jets for cleaning, but then noticed I had an extra piece that had fallen out. It was the little piece that goes in before you screw in the main jet emulsion tube. Not sure if I would have ever figured out where it went without this video. THANK YOU!

I've had problems with my TRX 500FA8's carburetor so I've been watching tons of these videos on KZread. This one had the best video quality with a great zoom, good clear presentation, bad-ass music 😂 and this happened to be the only one that solved one of my big headaches! I disassembled the carb after watching couple of these videos. Easy enough! But while cleaning the carb, one small nozzle suddenly fell off. I had no idea where it belonged to! Well, it was the nozzle at 9:30 on this video. The two other problems is that my carburetor was missing the jet holder and the idle mixture screw has no groove in it. It has a cylinder-shaped top with a small notch in it. If it had another notch on the opposite side, it could (in theory) be opened with a spanner. But it only has a notch on one side so I'm thinking that whoever put it in there didn't want it to be touched at all. Fair enough! One less part for me to toy with. But the missing jet holder puzzles me. Has it been missing since from the factory or did they forget to put it back in at Honda service.

Nice job and good clear concise explanations and video. Wish I would have watched this yesterday before tearing down my 06 foreman I just picked that had been sitting as well, luckily it all went well. Those older models and the Ranchers are so much easier to get to everything than that Foreman that is totally shrouded in plastic, plus I had to take out the whole airbox as well. Not too bad when I figured out how to remove all those body plugs.

It could be either the left or right crankcase cover, or the center cases themselves. When tracking down an oil leak, I start by pressure washing all the oil off, let it dry, then start the machine and look under it with a light to find the source. Best of luck to you.

Backfiring is usually a sign of a fouled spark plug, so I would try that first. If that doesnt fix it, check all your vent hoses to the carb, and fuel tank for an obstruction, this can cause a fuel starvation to the carb. if none of these work, and still only runs on the choke, most likely your carb is plugged up.

Try disconnecting the carb float chamber vent hose and blow thru it, I see alot of those plugged by dirt dobbers, also make sure the fuel cap is venting. either one of these can cause the problems you're describing.

If you do a lot of hills and rough trails you might want to replace it, otherwise the fuel can slosh around and let the main circut draw air and cause poor performance or stalling. If you just kinda ease around on fairly level ground, you'll never know it's gone. Thanks for askin'.
