Ed legitimately scares me with how close his predictions are, if he does cover the web novels, I’ll probably hold his predictions in the highest regard… like I don’t care if he says the most outlandish thing ever “ok so this is a ton foil moment but given the candor of Subarus voice in these scene, I think this indicates Spider-Man miles morales will be the final boss of re;zero a long with the eye of Sauron and deathstroke.” And I’ll just believe that’s gonna happen

Some things aren't canon in the Web Novel version but it'll suffice. I would usually recommend the Light Novel but the Web Novel translations are better most of the time so Idk. You can use the Light Novel if you feel like following the official source and reading Orthodox English and stuff, regardless of the integrity of the translation. They can get pretty rough in the LN, mistranslations and sentence skips quite a few times. That's at least what I've seen with the newer translator that is Jeremiah. He took charge after volume 4.

Same. The way he occasionally hits notes from...... later down the line has continuously placed me in a state of genuine shock. For example: Pandora.

my theory on the theme of the series in relation to pandoras box is that subaru is the hope on the bottom of the box since he has a borderlinde superhuman capacity to endure against the horrors of the world like any human i know wouldve lost theyre minds against the rabbits

Thanks to her authority, Echidna has a book of wisdom, and in this book is written all the past and the present. The Trials use this book and someone's memory to create a trial. So there may be moments that someone has no knowledge of.

@@kcck551 Yes. "A" makes it seem like it's simple or ordinary or a lesser version. "The" puts an emphasis on the fact it is VERY important and is the original.

Most everyone is familiar with the seven deadly sins (lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride), but what not everyone knows is there actually used to be nine - the seven we know plus vainglory (vanity) and acedia (melancholy). As time passed, acedia was eventually rolled into sloth, and I think vainglory was rolled into pride. But this is why there are nine witches of sin, and you've run into a witch you might not have been expecting in Pandora, witch of Vainglory.

The other thing is the Japanese language doesn't have an "L" in it, which is why "Lye" comes off as "Rye" ("Emilia" also comes off as "Emiria").

What's interesting to me is that "Envy" was not part of the original group of sins. But Vainglory is seen as its progenitor. I'm thinking Tappei prob took inspiration from that and we will see "Envy" being something different than the other authorities and something created by or set loose by Pandora.

54:27 imknowmim a little late, but the white around tve door ist't snow. In the novel it was stated, that everything around the door was just colourless, which makes this even more wiered.

Egging people on to experience the reaction, only being excited vy the unexpected, feeling like you're just watching events unfold ... yeah hits close to home. Might play a role in why I love Pandora as a character so much aside from the mystery and elegance.

So here's the thing about the witches if you are a huge myth nerd like me than you know a lot of these names have a sometimes vague connection to their authority or personality. For example the witch of the wrath Minerva who takes her name from the roman goddess of wisdom, war, medicine and a bunch of other things if you want her Greek counterpart it's Athena. In these myths she can be quite wrathful some examples are the stories of Medusa or Arachne. Medusa was turned into a monster for her having sex with Poseidon in Athena's temple (This story is different depending on the author and when it was written). Arachne was turned into a giant spider for bragging about how she could weave better than the goddess Athena and was a story designed to serve as a warning not to place yourself above the gods. However despite being quite wrathful at times in the myths she also helped heroes such as Hercules or Odysseus out on their journey and that's portrayed in Re:Zero nicely by her healing Subaru after the witch of pride turned him into small bits and pieces. The author does seem to draw a lot from myths and the other witches are similar in design.

When you read the LN/web novel it will clear up a lot of your lingering questions, anime cuts a lot of extraneous detail.

This one arc was a 25 episode season in which openings were played _maybe_ 10 times, endings were played _maybe_ a dozen times, and they literally bought ad slots _on their own show_ so that they could fit more time in the episodes. Nothing they could’ve ever done would’ve allowed them to fit more info in.

@@mr.stuffdoer8483 They could definitely fit in more info on Satella. Episode 13 was 26 or 7 minutes but they could've easily extended it so that the Satella scene made more sense. They're literally hiding away from us the fact that Subaru knows Satella and has strong, romantic-like feelings for her. It's literally the reason he bit his own tongue.

One thing about Beako is that people did want her to leave. She admits in the novels that people who actually cared for her have come, but she ended up rejecting them due to her fears. Subaru is extremely pushy and nosy to begin with, but others eventually gave her the space they thought she needed after being rejected or gave up. In a way, she was also an obstacle to her own happiness. Which is a common thing in this series, characters who become complacent and can't move forward. Every character is.

One thing I'll correct you on a little bit is about the Phantom Pain thing. It's called "phantom pain" but it's not so much "pain" in the way we usually describe it, it can be anything from a burning feeling to an itch that won't go away and the medical reason for it is rather cool in a terrible way of understanding it. The brain works in horribly funny ways and does regular checkups on the body every day, getting signals from all body parts. IF it catalogues that a certain part of the body isn't sending signals, it'll send a jolt down to that part of the body to "wake it up" and with amputees it's because the brain is going "the right arm is acting sort of funny lately, haven't heard from it, better wake it up, send signal to do that." and that's an electric current sent through the nerves to jolt that part of the body back up as the brain is wired to make sure you're safe and able to get away from danger at a moments notice. That jolt is the pain felt by amputees. And it can last hours or even days, the feeling is so debilitating that people have gone 4-5 days without sleep because the discomfort is so high that they can't relax. Really really fun part of it is that the younger a person is when the limb is amputated the less severe the reactions can be, as the brain is more accustomed to the lack of signal from that part of the body than it would be a person who is 16+ years of age, the longer you've been with the limb the more acute and problematic the pain can be. It's not always like this, people who have been amputees from 3 years of age have been recorded stating their left hand is on fire when they've never felt a burn and their hand is missing and that's lasted for days too. Worst part of it all is that it's all nerve induced and pain medication doesn't really deal with over active nerves, there are ways to suppress it but it's more common to submerge the part of the body in an ice bath to deaden the nerves for a period of time so that the problem can be worked out. There is also the mirror box trick that can be used to trick the brain into seeing a visual stimulus that then allows the nerves at the end of the limb to relax. Talking about phantom pain can and usually does begin a small session of it as you're obsessing over the area you've felt the pain in before and it's a nightmare. Gonna be a good day for me lmao.

It was explained the whiteness around the Seal is a distortion of the world, that the color of everything that’s been around the Seal is just gone. We don’t know why

I genuinely don’t get how he thinks of that Regulus stuff. It’s not like Tappei isn’t willing to make characters who just don’t die.
