You are one of the VERY few in the field in this world that have a full grasp of Withdrawal. Well done! Very well done! I haven't been able to come off my antidepressant. I've been on them overall for 20 years. It's a shame more Doctors are not as knowledgeable and are empathetic to the effects as you are.

I quit Cymbalta to quickly after 3 years on 120 mg for neuropathy. It was the worst experience of my life. Suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, paranoia. After a year, I’m still feeling very bad but not like that. I went to the ER, who mistook my symptoms for psychosis; the next thing I knew I was in a mental hospital for over a week which added another frightening dimension to this horrific experience. Wish I could sue Eli Lily.

Cymbalta is poison for 90% of people who take it. Prescribed for anxiety and damn near ruined my life. Withdrawals were huge for me even only being on it for 1 month. Stay strong

I tapered off my AD very slowly over 3+ years with a compounded liquid and came off 10 months ago and have experienced severe and intense symptoms…so for some people WD will happen no matter what. (This is my personal experience).

Withdrawal is just brain change=brain injury being unmasked. What they don’t tell you is that you can be injured coming off medications. Antidepressant injury and antidepressant tapering injuries are real. Benzodiazepine injury and benzodiazepine tapering injuries like chronic akathisia and other BIND symptoms are real. Anything with an associated “withdrawal” or “discontinuation syndrome” can cause akathisia. Especially withdrawal akathisia. Most of my worst symptoms didn’t erupt until I was 4-12 months off. I will never forget the words “tardive” or “akathisia” or “dystonia” as long as I live.

If I had known this, I would not have been bedridden or had akathisia after too fast a taper. By Dr. My life is destroyed, cant hardly walk.

Many tapper off slowly but ger the wd anyway so are you sure about the slow tapper model = no wd?

slow tapper ,with substitucion of some elements,in time frame that substitut is not causing new simptoms. Or again slow tapper of substitut at the end = no wd. (sory for bad eng.)

Just over two years ago I quit 30mg diazepam, 1mg clonazepam, 7.5mg zopiclone plus 80mg methadone cold turkey and never went back. It started off with me quitting just the 80mg methadone cold turkey and this alone led to insomnia and made me psychotic so much so that I decided to quit the benzos plus z drug cold turkey too even though I risked seizures and horrendous withdrawal symptoms. What I experienced was absolutely horrible in that my heartbeat was racing for 17 months or so and I was very very sleep deprived - 30 minutes sleep each night for roughly 3 months. Ended up on the streets living in a tent then I was sectioned under the mental health act then spent 4 months in jail on remand whilst going through the WD.
