Suga didn't say the N word, he said "Naega" which means I in Korean. 😂🥰💜💜

"naega" (said as neh-gah) actually means You in korean, "niga" (said as nee-gah) means I Yoongi says "yah, naega-" which translates to "Hey, you-" in a sort of cocky/challenging way in this context, which is why they chose to translate it as "Bruh" in the official subtitles 😅

I get the impression that not only Americans think they heard the "N" word - but English speakers, where this language is the official language, forgetting that similar-sounding words mean completely different things in another language

As other comments said, In Korean, "내가 (Nai-ga)" means "I am," and "니가 (Ni-ga)" and "네가 (Ne-ga)" mean "You are". There's no reason that BTS uses the N word : )

The making of this was fun! Suga dying laughing at Psy. Also, Psy's live concert which Suga showed up and surprised everyone, it was amazing!

This is one to watch, I'm my view, much better than the MV.
Funny fact: at first Suga was only going to produce the song. !! Then PSY talked to him to become Feat. in the song, then made him learn the dance 😂😂 Then he became a part of the music video 🔥🔥
You gotta watch the video where PSY sings this song in front of thousands of people, and how everybody loses it when Suga suddenly appears on stage. Lol

Thank you for understanding 😍
Suga said "Niga" means you, me and I in Korea. This is a common misunderstanding with Americans listening to Korean music. So it's not what you think. You will see this word when reading lyric videos.
Suga wrote/produced the song expecting no further involvement. Psy is hysterical and seems silly, but he is a VERY ASTUTE businessman. He slowly persuaded Suga into doing more and more until he got him to feature, sing and dance in the MV. 😅😅
Jungkook teases suga with the "that that " dance every time he sees him 😂😂😂
The range of songs and creativity of each one Suga writes and produces is crazy. Perfect song for Psy and huge viral hit. They behind the scenes videos show Psy and Suga laughed like almost falling out if the chair giggling while writing and recording the song and MV. Suga is not so secretly a comedian and loves a good hilarious song/joke. And Psy has always been camp and hilarious. Live whole stadiums have screamed the song going crazy.
71 year old Army here. Hi guys! BTS would never use the "n" word. In Korean, he is saying either "nega" which means "get out" or "naega" which means "I am". I think it's "get out". He could also be saying "niga" that is an informal way of saying "you" (you did, you said, etc.) I always google Korean words to get the definition. Comes in handy! 💜

uhh pretty sure bts used the n word in their younger days
It's NOT the "n" word!!! It's the word for "I or me" in Korean.
Suga's producing skills 💣💥💣💜💜💜. Also the translation of his rap isn't accurate. It's way better. Suga is teasing about beating the haters, but the phrase he uses is a term for spanking babies, so he is calling his haters babies.😂 Savage Suga!!
You use naega 내가 when you are referring to yourself in the sentence, kind of like 'I am'. Nae 내 means 'I'
Suga, please produce the track Suga, please rap on the track Suga, please be in the video Suga, please dance in the video Psy is an icon so he couldn't say no. You should react to Psy's Summer Swag Live where Suga surprised fans and they went wild!💜

Koreans are really hardworking ppl. Look at psy's energy
It's a Korean word for I..it is not the N word.😊
Suga's rap is way more intricate than the subtitles give it, but it's so full of Korean idioms that we wouldn't understand anyway, that it just had to be kind of dumbed-down to a 'here's the gist of what he's saying' translation....I remember watching this video for the first time and being a bit shocked and disappointed that Suga's rap was so generic and clichéd, but I was lucky to stumble upon a reaction by a Korean-American and his wife, and the guy couldn't believe the disconnect between what he was hearing Suga say in Korean vs. what his eyes were reading in the subtitles, so he slowed everything down and went thru Suga's rap line by line and translated it literally and then explained how a Korean would understand what Suga was saying and it was so harsh 😂
I cant get enough of reactors (esp Americans) getting shocked when they heard the Korean "NAEGA"word for the first time...😂😂😂😂😂😂Never gets old....😂

This is such a fun song and I'm glad you all reacted to it and enjoyed it. I had missed the whole PSY thing back when he blew up. I had heard of Gangnam style of course, I had kids in elementary school at that time and they all knew the dance, but it wasn't on my radar as a busy mom. I didn't have the time or energy for opening my musical horizons and just stuck to what knew and loved from the 80's and 90's. When I started listening to BTS in late 2021, I saw many references to PSY in documentaries and how he's this huge cultural Ikon in S. Korea. I was under the sadly mistaken impression that he was a one hit wonder. That may have been the case where I'm from in the US, but not everywhere else in the world. I admire that the man can still dance with such high energy and enthusiasm at his age (mid-40's) without looking like he's trying too hard to relive his glory days. He's got that "it" factor and I hope he keeps entertaining as long as he can. Partnering on a song with Suga was a fantastic collaboration and his character is captured perfectly in the MV. I hope they work together in the future.

I love this song. I dance to it every time I hear it, even in the car. I don’t need anyone else to dance with me.
FYI Psy & Snoop Dogg collabed on a song called Hangover & it's a straight banger
Well worth watching the behind the scenes for this. There is one on Psy's P Nation channel and on BangtanTV. They are hilarious together.
Finally I wanted to say I've been waiting for Psys comeback for ages and if it wasn't for him ba k in 2012 I would've not gotten into kpop. Secondly I love how he worked along with yoongi and got him not only produce but also to be in the MV but to also dance aswell. Yoongi id my all time fav rapper in the entire music industry and someone I can truly relate too. Thirdly I am in love with the cowboy concept and vibe of the MV and I have always loved the wild west vibe. The whole choreo is just like Psy (if you seen his earlier qork you will k ow what I mean) the beat is upbeat and just makes me want to get up and dance along and another thing "that that" chorus is just so catchy as it has been stuck In my head since I first heard it in the teasers. Also I was just smiling and laughing thruout the entire MV. Also it might just be me but Yoongi kinda looked like Tae in this MV too..
Nega in Korean means 'you or you are'. Naega means 'I or I am' please don't get the Korean language confused with our western slang & slurs. I was taken aback at first until I educated myself. I am 70. Never too old to learn. Please keep reacting.💜

Yo need to see the live performsnce for this song. Its on another Level
I Love this Song and this collab 😊❤❤
Man this song was fun
One thing that i still love about Gangnam Style is how 90% of the people who've loved it do NOT get that it's social satire. It's a flipped bird at the "image over everything" bs in SK. That and PSY went to Berklee college of music here in the US, so seeing a western flavor in his sound and style isn't that odd.
Suga didn't say what you thought you heard, what he said means something like "me or I" in Korean I believe Suga wrote this song as well as producing and performing in it.
man What a Video!!!!!!!
Hai saya kembali untuk menonton reaction video anda, yes i like that😅💜
Haha and there's no more peace for Suga afterwards, coz Jungkookie teasing him with ThatThat choreo everytime he meet Suga LOL
네가 (nega) and 니가 (niga) are both subject forms of 'you'. But people pronounce 니가 (niga) because 네가 (nega) can often sound like 내가 (naega) which is a subject form for 'I'.
For people who have barely heard Korean, this particular word lends itself to misinterpretation, but 내가 (NIga) = I (informal)
psy always have fun with his song LOL

He really does tho!
Suga wrote this song for Psy and produced it, but he never knew he was going to participate in it as well lol
This is Korean grammar 101. I saw an actual Korean explain it, but I already wrote this and added some info about the Chinese word niga, too.😅 -ga is a subject marking particle that is added to words ending in a vowel in order to direct attention to that thing/person. It can be added to ni (you) or nae (I or me) to make them the subject of a sentence. So when SUGA said "Ya! Naega!" it lets us know, in very informal speech, "Hey! What I'm gonna say next is about me!" Incidentally, niga is a very common particle of speech in Mandarin with tons of uses. First, it means "that", which is quite close to how Korean uses it! It can also replace something you're embarrassed to say, like how we use "do it" for sex or "go" for peeing. It's also useful for filling uncomfortable pauses, and to replace something you aren't sure about or can't remember, like saying "hmmm" "uhhh" "whatchamacallit" "soooo", etc. Lastly, and most confusing for me, it can be used to get someone's attention - "hey!". It's all about context. It has caused a lot of unnecessary anger, hurt, and violence when people who don't know Chinese hear it over and over. So - pass it on!
He said NAEGA, it is a korean word and it means I, you, me, depending how you spell it and use it.
I think this is the first k-pop song that you can clearly hear Naega. 😂 other songs that have it sometimes people dont hear it because is with other words and its not clear. I laugh so much when reactors are like did he just say what I think he said.😂
Please reaction to their live performance too,,,, ❤ "that that"
People who use subtitles should know by now that no kpop group uses the N word. It's honestly appalling that you think Suga would say that.

The Korean language is one of the world's Oldest languages. It's too bad an American racial slur is the first conclusion people jump to when they hear the Korean word, "naega." As commented earlier, there would no reason at all for BTS to use that word in any of their lyrics. They write about living in Korea, the culture, the society, the struggles of young people...and the story of their own careers. It probably wouldn't even have occurred to them it might be seen as something American, something negative. When they were at an American award show (I can't remember which one), they were asked to change it in the songs they would be performing. It's such a common word, it's in nearly every song. It must have made them sad.
Naega, I or You

Now stop that. Naga is Korean. Your not the only one to have those sounds. Their language goes back 1k’s of years. “That” word is 400 yrs old…..moving on…..look it up.
Thinking that “Naega” or “Niga” is the N word, when in fact they mean something so different in Korean makes me shake my head each time a reactor stops the video upon hearing it. There are hundreds of languages out there other than English and ordinary words in one language could sound like cuss words or insulting words in another. 🙄
