IR lamp is a must have especially if you game in a dark room. I purchased mine on Amazon for 15 bucks and no more tracking issue. On GT7 for reasons unknown the head unit would loose tracking due to poor lighting (even when proper lighting) and in the middle of a race it’s a bit of a downer. So IR lamp is def a VR thing

A storage case is great to keep dust away if you don't use the VR2 everyday. If you have large hand, some version of silicon pads setup that attach to the controller gives you a better grip and easier access to R/L 1&2. Lens dust cover makes your need to clean the lens a lot less.

Definitely agree with the microfiber cloths. It's not even about dust or whatever. The screens sit so close to your face, your eyelashes will brush them, smearing whatever oils or sweat that may be coating them all over the screens. Clean the screens, clean your face, get the settings right, since you'll probably nudge the IPM dial while putting it on, and you should be good to go.

1:30 That must be a you problem, I may clean my lenses once a week. But I do have a silicone cover that goes over the lenses when im not using it. There's also a very nice stand on Amazon that I already own. The link wont stay but its called a HAPAW PS VR2 Sense Controller Charging Station, Playstation VR2 Headset Headphones Holder. Its a stand that has two cooling fans,2 magnetic pieces for charging both the PS5 and PSVR2 controllers as well as a stand to hold the PSVR2 headset. Its a all in one base station that charges everything for around $49.99. Best accessory I have bought for the PS5. PSVR2 Silicon Lens covers. That way your not cleaning the lenses everyday and only once a week. Unless you have a sweating problem. Then thats just a personal issue. Mine never get dirty or foggy. Amazon $8.99 I got the Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel for my PSVR2. I disagree about the headphones. The ones that come with the PSVR2 work great. Better than a lot of $200+ headphones.

I can't get the lenses completely free of oil/grease. I use optical quality microfiber cleaning cloths and the only way to remove all the oil, is to use a brand new cloth every time. The cloths say to use only warm water and air dry to clean them. This doesn't get all the oil off the cloths.

  • @Kireth

It can be frustrating when your lenses keep getting dirty, especially if you're using VR headsets for sim racing. While microfiber cloths are great for cleaning lenses, they can indeed struggle with oil and grease. Here's a method that you can try to clean both your lenses and the microfiber cloths: First, mix a small amount of dish soap with water in a bowl. Dish soap is designed to cut through grease and oil, making it an excellent choice for cleaning lenses and microfiber cloths. Dip a corner of a clean microfiber cloth into the soapy water, making sure it's not soaking wet but just damp enough to pick up the soap. Gently clean the lenses with the damp, soapy section of the cloth, using circular motions. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as you don't want to scratch the lenses. Once you've removed the oil and grease, take a dry section of the cloth or a separate clean, dry cloth and gently buff the lenses until they are dry and free of streaks. As for cleaning the microfiber cloths, you can hand-wash them with dish soap and warm water. Gently rub the soapy water into the cloth, then rinse thoroughly under running water. Make sure you remove all the soap, as any residue can cause streaking on the lenses. After rinsing, air-dry the cloths completely before using them again. Remember, it's always a good idea to consult your headset manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning your specific device, as some may have specific instructions or warnings. And finally, to prevent oil and grease from getting onto your lenses in the first place, make sure your hands are clean before handling your VR headset. It's also a good idea to avoid touching the lenses directly, as the oil from your skin can transfer to them.

@Kireth I couldn't finish my question bc yt stopped responding, had to restart phone. I've never touched the lenses, and my hands are always washed before handling. This oil I'm talking about is only visible with a flashlight looking closely at lenses. I have washed microfiber lens cloth with a little baby shampoo. Instructions for the cloth say only water but I think it's so the dye doesn't wash out, which it did when I used shampoo. So just unsure what reason there is not to use a mild soap on cloths. Probably won't hurt anything I just want to keep lenses in best possible condition.

Wow, did not know psvr2 doesn't have a volume control button. I adjust my volume on the fly all the time and to me that's just a basic function on any device these days. Don't get me wrong, the psvr2 looks fantastic and I'll be using my own headphones when mine arrives so yes, it's a moot point for me personally but that's still a poor design choice. That has to have been a conscious decision because there's no way a company like sony just forgot about it. I feel audio is overlooked in vr a lot by many headset developers when to me it's just as important as the display and haptics for immersion. Took me a couple years before I finally settled on earphones I was truly happy with for the quest 2, which has pretty subpar built in audio. Personally I use Soundcore P10 earbuds for my quest2 which I'll be testing them with my psvr2 when it arrives. I can certainly recommend them for quest 2 as it stands. They are little in-ear buds though as per my preference but for full over-ear headphones, I hear steel series have a newer model of the headphones shown in this video that are meant to be better than the official ones for psvr2 so if anyone's interested they are worth looking into! Side note - a fan is a great idea, as mentioned in the video it does help with motion sickness if anyone is struggling getting used to vr. In addition, I always have my fan to my left and a small matt I stand on. This helps me know where I am in my playspace and becomes second nature eventually. If I feel my matt under my feet and the breeze on the left I know I'm in the center facing forward without having to check.

I use the fan with the VR, will be using it in the car when parked in the summer to keep the air circulating. Do you know how to set an alarm in the PSVR 2? It would save my mirage, I tell the wife I'm going to play for 45 minutes, I will take you shopping later. Then I end up coming downstairs 2 hours later. hi i like your videos especially the one where you kinda called out all these reviewers who were not telling the truth about the 4k crystal clear visuals, as i purchased psvr2 after watching these types of reviews and when i first tried my headset i was totally disappointed and somewhat angry !! however after watching your videos on how to set it up etc and accepting that you arnt goin to be seeing clear 4k visuals ive now got the headset and the visuals to a point where im going to stick with this and not return it to the store ive used it about 8 to 10 times now playing about 1.5 hrs each time no motion sickness and i now seem to be getting much better visuals than i did when i first used it !! so i would say to anyone who has just purchased one and like myself are disappointed make sure you take your time to set up clean lenses each time before use and after getting use to placing it correctley on your head remember the strap at the back has to sit literally at the bottom of your skull and you will see far better visuals hope this helps anyone who is having trouble ??

I fully understand the pleasure you can get by playing in VR, but as a viewer, I hope that all your future content (and same for other GT youtubers I watch here and there) will not be in VR. Yes the passthrough image quality is good so we are not penalized by the lower res inside the headset, but the shaky image is not as pleasant as regular footage, even when the player is not moving his head too much. Plus it is always nice to alternate the cam view. With VR nowadays it seems we are limited to shaky cockpit videos only. I hope it will fade. I have PSVR1 (bought it years after release), and I will wait a bit before jumping on PSVR2. I want to try it first, and wait for the price to go down too, it'll take years but I don't mind. I also have a Quest 2 bought at a time it was heavily downpriced. Really cool on Flight Simulator for example, with the same issue of lower res rendering (might be bigger than on PSVR2 as there is no FVR nor eye tracking to optimize the image quality where it is needed).

Glad to see someone actually mentioning the blurriness, all reviews I've watched & read to date make absolutely no reference to this ?!!?? It's definitely low quality visually when compared to my dual Samsung G7 setup which I run my PC & PS5 through, but regardless of the mucky resolution the VR2 is a cracking bit of kit & ridiculously immersive especially playing GT7, which is all I've tried thus far since delivery on Friday. Will be checking out some of the demo's in the PS store when I get the chance. Is it worth £540.00 (including 2 day delivery).........probably not IMHO, but give it a try if you can afford it 👍 8/10
