In view of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us, we are to demonstrate sensitivity and a caring spirit toward those who are poor and needy. We are His hands and feet in this world, and it’s important to be givers in His name. Of course, there will always be people who take advantage, who are not honest, whose intention is to take advantage of others, for personal gain. That is why we believers must follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. He is faithful to give us discernment and to put on our heart the person(s) we should help, as well as the best way to help. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.

In view of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us, we are to demonstrate sensitivity and a caring spirit toward those who are poor and needy. Jesus is the head and believers are the body of Christ. This means we are to do what Jesus tells, and shows, us to do. He is our example and we are to do what we saw Him doing as laid out in the Word. Jesus was filled with compassion and was moved by compassion changing people’s lives by changing their circumstances. God isn’t raining manna from heaven anymore. Instead He uses people to impact people. Because we live in a world where people often take advantage of others we must discern what are true needs in people’s lives. We do this through prayer and the Holy Spirit. There will be times when people will take advantage, and use others for their gain. When that happens we must trust God to see our hearts in the provision and theirs in the deception. We can’t let unscrupulous people cause us not to hear, and answer, the cry of the needy. We must trust that the Holy Spirit will cause compassion to rise up in us to respond, trusting that God will deal with the motives. He sees the heart, we don’t. Be Encouraged!

It's not Lord Jesus "thinking of David" but rather, Lord Jesus has put thoughts in David's mind to write Lord Jesus's "thinking".
