We have had a lot of loss in our family. My twin sister when we were 20, a week before my son, my only child, was born. 25 years later, we lost my grandparents and my son in 11 months. It's just my mother and I left now. Co-workers asked me how I handle that much loss.....and I tell them: Every day here is one day closer to being with them. The Lord is my strength, and they are home....waiting for me.

I feel this so much !! My husband and I have 2 baby boys we're waiting to see. And we've lost our grandparents and my father in law along with numerous aunts and uncles/ cousins and family.. it makes heaven all the much more a sweeter place we long for so much!!

This song just made me collapse and ugly cry. This world is such a lonely place for the believer. I can't wait until we all go home to be with Jesus.

Reminds me of a dream I had many years ago. I'm standing in a huge doorway looking in...it's not time for me to go in yet; I was being given "a glimpse" of what I had to look forward to. All I know was I was looking at a sea of people whose hands were raised in worship in what seemed a never ending auditorium filled with light and they were singing the most beautiful song of praise to the Lover of their Souls, all completely caught up in the song, the Song emanating from someplace deep within them, in a language all understood belonging to God, and all I could think of was "I want to be in there among them!" I could not wait. Everyone unique, everyone completely individual but completely united in worship and pure JOY. I cannot wait to be among the heavenly throng and when I am amongst God's people on Sunday mornings, in a conference of believers, or even just in a small group and we're singing praise to our Lord, it's a sweet but oh so small taste of what is to come. Go to church, beloved! Go to worship together! Thank you for this song, Shane and Shane!

In 2022, my brother died with his two kids and wife surpassing him. Later, my husband and I had a miscarriage with our first. To say this year has been one of suffering is an understatement. When I hear the words “in the doorway of my fathers house, I’m home” - I imagine myself running into Christ’s arms and being hugged by my brother and my child who I’ll meet for the first time. What a day that we yearn for - take heart fellow believers, Christ is coming soon.

Our son Ethan is in heaven with 3 of my brothers, possibly another brother or sister, our first great grandchild. I pray God's blessings and comfort upon you and your husband!!!💞

This is very special - I wept as I listened as these lyrics were part of the testimony of my late son who God chose to take to be with Him at the age of 25. Our son lived a life dedicated to Christ and longed to be with the Saviour he loved so much and served so well. Now he has said "I'm Home" - for now, for our family, it is a life separated from David but one day the separation will be over and we will share eternity with Jesus and with him and all of our family and friends who have gone on before. How lovely is your dwelling place - i.e. I love your dwelling place, O Lord. What a day it will be when all sin, sorrow, suffering, sickness, sadness and separation are gone for ever, to be replaced with sharing, singing and serving around the Throne in 'His dwelling place'.

So sorry for your loss. I can relate. Lost my son at 28 3 years ago. The pain is still so new. God Bless us all. I just put our family dog down Saturday and know she’s running in Heaven with my son. Hallelujah!

I have read many of the comments and share the feelings of the messages. Heaven IS real. It is our destination. It is abt how we live here on earth, in the meantime, that matters. It is not talked abt enough. We are to bring His Kingdom alive on Earth, as IT IS in HEAVEN. Til our time to be called home. Amen 🙏🙌👏

When my mom passed I felt homeless. I didn’t grow up in one place or even have a hometown. So so just always felt the home was where my family was. When she went home with Jesus I felt lost and and like I lost that sense of home. Yet as I read this psalm and listened to this beautiful song I that to dwell with God my heavenly dad the one who crated my spirit and my soul is to be home. This touched my heart and in a beautiful way brought healing and race to my heart. Thank you for sharing this song.

I share in having felt the same homeless when my mom died...I moved a lot after her passing. Anytime I visited my dad I felt at home wherever he was. He is currently fighting an incurable cancer in late stage. I'm already feeling those same feeling of homeless at the thought of losing him too but this song and psalm 84 bring so much comfort and sets my focus on our fathers house in heaven.

"Wherever I go, I'm home cause you're here in my soul." That line really comforted me as I was anxious about starting school again and being around so many nonbelievers. It reminds me that the Holy Spirit is with me and I do not need to be afraid of the world. I can instead be comfortable acting different from the world like I would be at home among fellow Christians. I am so excited for the day when I can be with Jesus in Heaven, but even now the Lord's Spirit is with me and I am so thankful.

Thank you for your response. Indeed, the children of God have an indescribable treasure because God Himself is our inheritance and portion. You too can have the same. Just come to Jesus as you are, with a sincere heart, and receive Him as your Lord and Saviour, believing that God the Father sent Jesus His Son to die to pay the price for your sin so that you may be forgiven and accepted by God in Christ, to be His beloved child. John 1:12-13 tells us, "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--- [13] children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."

@@jsloh9549 I wish it were the case for me too but it isnt. I believe all that and I have tried bettering myself but I dont feel like I really am His child. I think He never wanted and now all I think is the lake of fire. I know what they say, but the Bible says the Holy Spirit bears witness that we are His children and I dont hear Him saying that I am. Its eating me alive but it is what it is.

@@miyaiun4723 Don't rely on feeling or emotion but have faith in the Lord. If you have sincerely received Jesus into your heart and surrendered your life to Him, then the Holy Spirit is in you to bear witness of your salvation and status as a child of God. Nevertheless, you can ask the Holy Spirit to give you an assurance of your salvation and leave it to Him to do that in His own wise way and time. It is not by you bettering yourself, because then it will be by your own effort that you feel you are a child of God, and not by faith in the merit of Jesus' death and sacrifice for you. The flesh or our natural self would want to do things to be accepted and be right with God, and the devil will tell you that you are not good enough, that you have to try harder to be accepted as God's child. No, these are all lies. It is all by faith in Christ, not our own merit, our goodness or good behaviour or our effort. It is simply by taking God at His word, that Jesus died for you and if you believe in Him and have received Him into your heart as Lord and God, then you are His child and the Holy Spt dwells in you. Doubts might arise but trust and stand firm in the Word of God, it is the truth and all else is a lie. Keep seeking the Lord in prayer, the Word, praise and fellowship with other genuine believers. In time, the assurance of your salvation and that you are a child of God, will come. Reject the enemy's lies that tell you otherwise.

@@miyaiun4723 Jesus would never reject anyone who comes to Him, in whatever condition. He does not expect us to better ourselves first. If that is so, we would not need a Saviour. We need Him because He alone can save our souls. He came for the lost, the weak, the poor, the needy, the unrighteous, etc, who see their need for a Saviour. Go to Him as you now are and ask Him to do the work needed in you that you may know without a doubt you are His and He is yours.

Psalmist gets a message of calm and courage from the little birds, sparrows and swallows, who inhabit God’s Temple, raising their young in safety and peace. A favourite psalm.
