It annoys me that this isn’t common knowledge. Any ink that you put into your skin will go blurry overtime. That’s why touch ups are a thing because colour fades and so does detail which is why any real decent artist will tell you either no or suggest a different way round it, normally by making it a bit bigger. DO NOT GET TINY DETAILED TATTOOS PEOPLE. They are pretty but will literally turn out a blob of colour or black pigment over time. It’s the same for tiny scripture too. If you want a long lasting tattoo, consider making it bigger or getting rid of detail.

That sucks then because if I was ever able to get one, I wanted a really small one. I don't want anything really big atm, especially since idk if my skin will even take well to tattoos since it's really sensitive. It good to have this knowledge for the future though

@@BettyBrown-jt4fh Yeh I love the korean style mini detailed colour tattoos that are like realism (there's an artist who specialises in small realistic gems and some that do small animals) and i really want once but they start degraded way too fast for the time, money, and pain and only really work well on paler skin with lots of collagen in it (usually east asian skin)

NOT ALL FINE LINE TATTOOS BLUR OVER TIME!!! The reason it spreads and gets blurry over time is due to the artists pressure/depth in the skin. When doing fine line tattoo you must be very careful with pressure and make sure you are using the right needle size so that this won’t happen! Make sure to do your research when looking for a fine line tattoo artist. You want someone who specializes in fine line tattoos and has consistent healed work.

Nah all tattoos blow out over time, if they'd be shallower the ink would completely shed off

This isn’t true and I wish this misinformation wasn’t spread. All tattoos no matter the depth or how well it is done will expand and fade under the skin over time. This is normal. Depending on the artists depth and sun exposure sometimes it holds up better or worse but regardless, again, ALL tattoos do this to some degree as it ages. I can guarantee any tattoo you might have on your body right now will look different in 20 years regardless of any other factors.

some fineline tattoos fade more than they do expand, I think that's more ideal

I wanted writing but the fact they bleed over time put me off after a while its not easy to read. They should inform you before you have one done.

I have only fine line tattoos. My oldest ones are 7 years old and they still look good. Mt heart on my wrist has gotten lighter and the word beautiful on my ribs has gotten a little lighter and thicker but it still looks decent. I guess it depends on where you get the tattoo, how you look after it and who the artist is 😊

Just some info - Fineline is super prone to blowing out if not done correctly. Correctly done Fineline won’t spread out like that. What the after photo shows is blow out. From the looks of the before photo they went too deep in your skin.
