nah just don't copy text from non-sanitized text (only copy from real and normal discord messages, not fancy embeds, text files, or code blocks), and don't copy text in other languages that you don't understand, and if someone says the message to verify using "i am 12" in another language you can literally report them back.

for the people asking; no, removing right to left override is not an option as it will make discord unusable for any language that is written right to left, which is a lot more people than you might expect (more than half a billion world wide population). the only real way for people to not get falsely banned is by making the moderation process less automated, after all its clear that auto bans get more innocent people banned than guilty. the more complicated discord makes their system, the more ways there will be to exploit it.

It does remove RLO, that's why the message flips back around when you paste it into chat. However, because it's a text file and not a normal message, Discord doesn't change it (imagine if you send a file and it completely breaks because Discord changed it).

It's a right to left *override* which is not actually required for right to left languages. The override is just to force a specific direction regardless of what language is being typed. Otherwise more often than not, it will display in the correct direction based on the characters being used.

The reason the message seems to flip after sending is that discord actually removes the right-to-left override (which is the reason the message looks like it's backwards in the first place) from your message upon sending, which is why it has to be sent as a text file. I assume they did this after people started messing with it, just like with a bunch of whitespace characters, but there are some right-to-left characters that still work and don't get stripped, some show up on mobile, some on desktop.

Again, this is upon sending, so it still looks flipped in the message box, and as a message while it's being sent, but as soon as it is sent, your client receives the message that was actually sent, which doesn't contain the right-to-left override.

@@satgurs A long time ago when I was 13 or 14, I remember jokingly saying on discord "I'm 7 years old". I had a cat pfp so my whole point was to send a message following it saying "as a cat", but too late. I was banned off the server that day, even though I appealed back in with my ID. I fortunately didn't get banned off the platform itself.

I love how NTTS simultaneously warn us and give ideas to trolls to annoy the other 99% of basic discord users that don't watch his channel lol.

​@@HeartCollide In the sense that the only or even overwhelmingly *likely* way for someone's send history to match `/I'?m (\d|1[012])/` is because they actually are underage, and if you believe that makes sense you don't even need replacing with a LLM. A small language model will probably do pretty well. Hell, a shell script will likely work.

the age thing goes for twitch as well, do not, even as a joke, say you're under 13. twitch's automated system bans you within a couple minutes, and the appeal takes months to well over a year, and that's IF you even get any response from twitch. i have seen many people get banned from it and have no way of getting their account back cause they either have no proof of age or they simply never got a response from twitch.

Yeah for sure. Even if you're well over 13, but made the account before you were 13, I believe Twitch will ban you. At least, that's the reason one osu! streamer gave for moving to a new Twitch account.

The underage confession thing should not be usable and inadmissible. I have ran a Discord server with thousands of members for 3 years, paid nitro annually for 2, and recently got temporarily banned for being 'underage' with no explanation. I think the cause is every time I have sarcastically posted that I am 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 12, but that makes me extra confused because that means the people reporting me would have to report multiple messages all different ages, or does Discord not actually check the account activity? I'm just playing, I know it is the second option! They just laid off 17% of their staff, they don't have time for that!! BTW I appealed it with visible ID and they said "we cant read that, send another photo" which is fair but I replied to them immediately after that email and got nothing back. I have been banned for a week so far, with only the one response. I think it is time to stop interacting with this company if very evident jokes (especially so if context is provided in reports) can get a paying adult banned

When I saw the thumbnail I didn't realize it was in French, spelled backwards. But as soon as I saw the forward-spelled version, I understood what the trick was.

Had a buddy get banned off Discord for having almost this exact exchange. Guy: "What are you, a child?" My friend: "Oh totally, I'm an 8 year old with a FUCKING ANALYTICS DEGREE. Are you stupid???" Guy never responds and my friend lost his discord account for almost 2 full months. Discord won't even deal with obvious satire about that shit.

( I comprehended what you said at the conclusion as a French person on my initial attempt. That means you have such a great pronunciation, lol. )

The simple solution to level 3 is not to use role bots for admin/moderation roles. Yes, it's a few extra steps to go manually give/remove those roles but at least your server's more secure that way. Unless you're using mee6 in which case the "don't allow moderation/admin roles to be managed via commands" feature is probably locked behind a paywall.
