As an owner of the Xbox series X, I’m very happy with the console. Quick resume, backwards compatibility and game pass sold me on the Xbox, I’ve thought about picking up a PS5, but having a hard time justifying spending $499 just to play Spider Man 2

I have bought three actually and just one Xbox for my son who stopped playing and went PlayStation and pc. Think Microsoft/Xbox is going to be a game developer only in the future especially if halo is releasing on PlayStation

I went with the xsx this gen. Xbox one games are cheap and the auto upgrades with HDR is great. I also like fact I can pause games and come back.

Xbox. The Series S is cheaper, Game Pass, while more expensive month to month, gives you day 1 games for the price of the sub instead of $70 (or wait about a year or more with Playstation), and even the controllers are cheaper.

It depends on which games you want to play: if you want to play for example call of duty I’d say Xbox series x because of the stable frame rate and Activision acquisition, if you want to play Fortnite xbox series s is perfect with stable 120 fps; if you want to play other games both ps and Xbox are really good and it depends if you like exclusives or not. A thing to keep in mind if you get the Xbox you can buy digital games for much less on sites like instant gaming… instead of having to buy them from the Microsoft store. On PS there are just a few games that you can buy from other stores.

That said, watch reviews demonstrating each consoles strengths like this one, KNOW which aspects are more important to YOU, then decide accordingly..

Pc is the best however sometimes you just want to turn on your console and just play games without thinking which parts you need to upgrade. Pc is the most best and versatile route but man the money you spent for the pc. I do love the mods they can do though.

I've spent way too many hours trying to fix games and make them run correctly. I just want to turn my machine on and play games and relax.

Developers prioritize consoles over pc due to them paying the subscription and that's why consoles are cheaper too to make it more affordable and invites more players leading to the up for sales, active player numbers thus making it easier for investors to give more money. Then we have the plus side of owning a physical copy that can be shared and resold with tendency of it being on sale for cheap price as well. On digital you can as well on pc sharing install files but physical copy just feels different. Yeah pc is more of status thing now who has the best rig.

I'm mostly a PC user but thought of buying a console as an alternative option. But it's hard, there just isn't many exclusives that I actually care about. Maybe Bloodborne and Demon's Souls but that's it. All the other ones are really bland or too linear. Modern games are getting less and less appealing to me now

I’m deadlocked as I own both. Both are powerful and have their own good features. Both play the most of the games I want.

During last gen I had both ps4 and xbox one I firstly got the ps4 due to it being slightly more powerful and cheaper even got the ps4 pro but once the one x came out I fully switched and honestly never looked back I bought the series x for launch got it November 2020 and love everything about it don’t ever think about PlayStation exclusives at all because 1-2 games don’t justify a entire consoles in my opinion.

Not to mention sony is losing games and microsoft is buying up more companies and gamepass is Cheaper then ps plus and has way more games and i mean Way more games. Sorry but unless sony announces bloodborne remaster,remake or bloodborne 2 i just have no use for my ps5 over the series x. Not to mention most games stay at a stable 60 fps and ps5 has more frame drops. This is due to the ps5 have 2 gigs less video. Makes a huge difference as the years go by. I have both consoles but just stating the facts. Not to mention almost everyone i know has bought multiple ps5 controllers cause they get terrible stick drift over time. Sony has made a nice controller but its durability is complete shit and they dont last lol.

I was playing spider man miles Morales on PS 5 and just after I defeated rhino towards the first part of it and went to fight the enemy the game froze and the buttons and stick wouldn't work it happened a second time at the beginning before rhino appeared and when a enemy showed up I went to fight and it froze stick and button wouldn't work

Finally bought a ps5 last year. Loving it so far. Currently playing baulders gate 3 on ps5, and looking forward to Spiderman 2. The system has been amazing at playing all my streaming services and all my saved digital games. I prefer the ps5 controller way more than xbox, theirs just seems clunky and bulky in my opinion. The haptics arent game breaking, but in a game like "the last of us", its pretty neat to pull the trigger to shoot a gun and get the resistance and release like a real trigger. The console itself is bigger than I thought it would be and it took some shuffling around to make it fit on the entertainment center shelf. The exclusive games are top notch so far. I haven"t really been into games like CoD for years, and Fallout 76 turned me off of Bethesda games, so the Activision/Blizzard/Bethesda buyout doesn't hurt my feelings. I'll just buy a PC to play those ganes someday if i really want to.

Xbox is quieter, has quick resume, has gamepass and many more controller designs. PS5 has the better controller, more exclusives and the player base

Why to choose when you can have them all and enjoy? Some will say, I dont have money, and at the same time they have iPhone of 1k$. Have all 3, playing everything they have to offer, Tears of Kingdom, Starfield, Spiderman 2, all must play on different platforms. Great time to be a gamer.

I've had both for awhile now and both are great. They both have their strengths. If I had to choose one though, I'd choose PS5 all day. The exclusives are next level.

Not to mention sony has lost more rights to games and microsoft is buying companies up left and right. I own both consoles but unless sony announces a Bloodborne remaster or bloodborne 2 i have no reason to turn on the ps5. Newer games are also staying at a consistant frame rate on series X while ps5 has ton of more drops in frames and this is due to the graphics card being 2gigs weaker.

any comment on reliability of hardware? I had to send one controller back in warranty for drift and now my other controller has drift only a year outside of warranty, forcing a 70$ re purchase because they have NO repair service outside of warranty. Originally I loved the DualSense, but having both become unreliable at a $70 price is a slap in the face Thinking of Xbox for next gen, how has their hardware held up?

Both are great for different reasons tbh, as someone who’s owned both .

Prefer Xbox X for form factor, specs, games, ability to surf the web, youtube and entertainment (as i only use my computer to do work now). the Xbox just seems so much more complete and stable.

I own a ps5, series s, switch, and pc. Ive always been and will be a playstation guy. But i love all of my systems and depending on what i want to play is what console ill end up playing on. Its all personal preference and they are all great. I honestly only care about forza when it comes to xbox exclusives. But game pass and how compact the series s is its usaully my travel system if i want something more powerful than my switch or i just dont feel like dragging my ps5 with me. They all have a use to me and fill that use perfectly.

​@@seanwiseman9770 The actual controller design of Xbox is probably the best ever. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. To me it is more comfortable than the PS controllers, even though the PS controllers aren't bad. Xbox could definitely put some new features in the controller though. Better haptics and a gyro is all I would want. But as far as the controllers go I'd still pick Xbox, even though I like the Duelsense.

I think one important factor why people choose one console over another is which platform they have used to use till now. PS or Xbox. Xbox is fully backward compatible so your already collected game library follows to Series X, your online friends follows and your achievements. PS5 is backward compatible with PS4 games so for former PS4 owners it probably makes more sense to update to PS5.

I’ve always been a PS guy. Had PS1 - PS4. I got an Xbox Series X 2yrs. ago because it was nearly impossible to buy PS5 here in my country at the time so I had no choice but man, I’m honestly very happy I gave xbox a chance. Super in love with the console and the games I have played so far. I’ll most likely buy a PS5 before the year ends but it’s really great to experience what microsoft has to offer. 😊

In Xbox you get : ' THE ULTIMATE GAME PASS ' and more storage , quick resume , controller is more comfortable for long hours and you can also browse internet in it , and can buy cheap games from other region ( argentina, turkey ) , cloud gaming , smart delivery , backwards compatible..... In Ps5 : ' EXCLUSIVES 😎' , dualsense , Futuristic look , VR gaming (if you have one😅)

I think you forgot one point but correct me if im wrong. When in a xbox series x game for example warzone. You can go into the quick menu and go to search for groups, this allows you to find people that you can play with, which makes it a lot easier to communicate. I find this very nice because when your friends are offline you can just search for a group instead of playing with randoms

The controller is way better but then again is all about choices. I had both ended up selling XBOX for several reasons. Lack of exclusives. Some games are inferior in performance like CoD WZ 2 and even most recent titles the PS has little more stability. Better interface well feels next gen compared to a old Microsoft pc style. At the end is all about taste. And even games are cheap when u buy a game with a friend (share). No brainer. And also storage lol. I have my ps5 with 3TB and it didn’t cost more then 120€. XBOx has his own storage but costs much more and if u wanna NVMe u can pay double as I did. Controller wise ye Xbox is cool. Gamepass? Depends what games u play RD2 runs better on XBOX so does Ghost Recon. Forza is great in arcade (Horizon titles) but since there is the Crew horizon 5 feels boring and even worse. Starfield. Hum tried. Gave up. Boring game also overhyped. But that’s about choices and taste.

No. Not worth it, unless you want a particular exclusive or not.

I went from the Xbox One to the PS5. I invested alot of money into digital games on the PS5, even pre ordered the ultimate edition of FIFA 24. Had i not invested all this money in the PS eco system, I would have switched back to the Xbox world. Why? The UI feels better, you can interact via chats on every single game... and it's more social.

U are so wrong. PS ecosystem feels next gen. XBOX feels old. I had XSX and before XoneX and it was disappointing seeing the same old ugly UI menu. Now XBOX looks old and even the new polished UI feels old. UI on PS5 is far better overall also some other features. Smoother and faster. Bro common give me some better reason. PS5 is bigger in community wise.

​@ Hard disagree. It's UI is a common critisism of the PS5 I do think it presents better. It's new and clean and fresh. But it terms of actually using it and function, Xbox is undeniably better. I do think Xbox would have benefited with a new UI to feel new and fresh. If it remained as good that is. But we didn't get that, but the Xbox UI functionality and ease is absolutely better.

I own both consoles, but I give the edge to the PS5 for having an upgraded controller, a cheaper memory upgrade path, and VR headset that expands the experience. Microsoft's advantage is with quick resume, dual ownership of games for PC, and GamePass. It's all about preference. I enjoy graphics of each console, but PS5 offers a greater level of immersion by a mile compared to the XSX.

I enjoy the unique feedback from the controller, and how easy (and inexpensive) to upgrade storage. I use my series X to play more AAA titles and for Game pass benefits.

Which one experiences less lag and runs better?

As a Series X owner for several years, here’s issues I’ve had: the mic system is proprietary so most headsets need to be custom made for Xbox. It does not use USB mics. The quick resume is overhyped because you get booted off games like Madden since your network disconnects from the game, ruining your progress. The exclusives suck…Halo and Gears have never been as legendary as final fantasy or metal gear. The only pros for it are game pass, and the more matured design. Otherwise PS5 is far more utilitarian and freeing.

Good video. As an owner of both the Series X and the PS5, I very much agree with you. The games and controller are what really make the difference. It's nice to have both consoles but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose PS5 for those two big reasons; your analysis is spot on.

There is a ps5 at my house that I use on occasion. I own a series x and a high end liquid cooled Alienware pc gaming setup with a 240hz Alienware monitor overall it was around 5000$ I even own a 3000$ apple laptop. The series x is by far the better choice for competitive players looking for an enhanced gameplay. The series x has a better gpu and larger ssd.

As far as console performance... they are basically both the same. Few frames up or down per game on each. Then its just up to you as to what ecosystem you like better.

I'm a lifelong Playstation user but I'm not fanboy and I have been gaming since 1990. This generation I bought a Xbox due to them purchasing obsidian and Bethesda I first bought a series S because I never owned a Xbox and I knew it would be easy to preorder at launch and later on I loved it so much I bought a series X I have not bought a PS5 yet but I will. My best friend has a PS5. I am highly satisfied with both the series S and X and I do not regret the decision to switch. I can't wait for starfield avowed and outer worlds 2. Right now outside of spiderman And GOW I have no reason to run out and buy a PS5 until I see more exclusives I want. Meanwhile gamepass has kept me satisfied and with games landing on it like hi fi rush, MLB the show, Forza horizon, Halo, physconaughts 2, grounded, persona and Yakuza series I have been satisfied with just having my Xbox

I own ps5, xbox, switch and pc and I gotta say. The series S/X has an amazing catalog of games. Game Pass, 360, og Xbox. Also, you can emulate Wii, Gamecube, Ds, 3ds, Ps2 etc on these consoles, and it’s just surreal. Not counting that MS will probably buy Activision Blizzard too, therefore. Gamepass will become even more valuable. Xbox is a good environment now. Every console is a winner, I understand that it’s hard to have all platforms. So, it’s down to preferences.

As of August 2023, I still have No interest in a PS5. I’m perfectly happy with my Xbox Series X. The activision/blizzard future deal, the graphical power, the console design, Gears of war series, Halo, Antstream and gamepass. Many other reasons too. Last gen? I was all PS4. I had no interest in Xbox one. But this gen, I’m happy with my Series X.

Just makes no sense to have such a great console like an Xbox, and not commit to making masterclass titles taking advantage of it it’s specs and power. The Activision/Blizzard/Bethesda deal was in result of Microsoft desperately trying to even the playing field. They spent the money, purchased existing titles, (because they haven’t made their own great one in a while) and have a chance. PS5 still had 15 million more units sold than XboxX, and until they figure out how to get amazing games consistently, without spending billions to purchase existing IP, they will NEVER win a console war. They’ve lost the last 2, BADLY.

First of all, here’s some facts 😂 PS5 total consoles sold: 37.44 Million Xbox Series X consoles sold: 21.67 Million Xbox is getting their ass kicked in this generation, and is being nearly DOUBLED in total sales by PlayStation. Xbox cannot hang. The ONLY solution is to spent money. Like you said, they bought Activision, along with a couple more video games because they aren’t good at making their own. Since Halo/ Gears of Wars, there isn’t any amazing games by Microsoft. This may be an opinion, but it’s one agreed upon by most console gamers. Nobody gives a shit about Gears 5 or Halo. Forza Horizon is a good franchise, but PlayStation has their racing monster in Grand Turismo. There’s nothing special on Xbox. List of PlayStation exclusives that apparently, you claim are not “system sellers” or game changers, but people ACTUALLY want to play these games more often. 1. This is always hard. Sony first party games are neigh untouchable in quality with only Nintendo really competing on that level. But once done I rarely go back to replay them anymore to be honest ... yet they are experiences most definitely worth having. But at the same time lots of their games fall into the same cliche style now and they don't take the risks they used to. Sony's controller was more innovative,however I dislike the symmetrical Sticks and super short battery life with no way to change it. They opted for a more consumer friendly NVME drive for more storage also which is great. However I dislike the use of LiquidMetal in the console as long term it doesn't hold up and the average consumer will have no idea how to work with it if it needs redoing or re spreading. Their pro controller fixed drift but adding hot swap analogs...but only has two back triggers kind of defeating the point since they are often used to replace face buttons entirely. Xbox has the best services in the business full stop,but their first party output is lacking and has never gone back to 360 levels..not even close. Their controller is more comfortable imo and being able to use higher MaH packs or rechargeable AA is highly preferable,yet they didn't really innovate with it at all... They used easy to install storage cards but...they are overpriced as hell and only two brands currently make them. The console in paper is more powerful than ps5 but we are rarely seeing that in reality. Why? No idea but it's truth. Xbox is investing far more into buying studios than Sony is for the future,but it's also taking them far too long to produce content honestly. The console itself is more attractive and easier to fit into an entertainment center,also no liquid metal used which is a huge plus. It's also extremely modular and much easier to work on if need be. Xbox is taking far more risks with different game types than Sony is these days,but many of those risks are not paying off either. Xbox elite controllers have four back buttons,FEEL higher quality and have vastly superior battery life....but also have a large number of QC complaints also....so it's kind of a wash. It's truthfully best to have both but I realize for most that isn't realistic. Myself,I use my XSX for most things,but once a good PS exclusive releases my Xbox stays off until I finish that. If I could not afford both?...hell I don't know honestly. That's tough. Thinking toward the distant future doesn't make it any easier either. PlayStation has a ton less money to invest and take risks with than Xbox does. But PlayStation is a keystone of keeping Sony solvent. Lots of their other business ventures saw losses recently. So it's super important for PlayStation to stay successful for them. Xbox could ride out decades of losing money and take much bigger risks than Sony can and be totally fine,but this IS Microsoft were talking about here and eventually if things don't turn a corner who knows..they could dump or sell the brand entirely. An easy recommendation is a Switch to compliment either though lol.

I'll have to disagree with your comment about the PS5 offering more controller colors. XBOX has a huge catalog of controller variations and special editions (not to forget mentioning the design lab where you can make your own) that are first party as well as many themed controllers the PS5 doesn't come close to.

@@etherthedragon2273 Work fine to me. I own both and I don't think there's anything about the PS5 controller that makes it largely better than the XBOX ones. The adaptive triggers are a gimmick at best and a battery hog at worst. I've either turned them down to low or off during long gaming sessions to save my fingers from fatigue. The gyroscope feature seems to have very little use (for me at least) as well. Both are good controllers and the PS5 controller is the best PlayStation has ever done but I don't think it's as revolutionary as they market it.

I play my Xbox horizontal and not vertical like most. The reason is for one, there are venting holes on the bottom where the stand is. But the main reason is if you play your Xbox vertically with the venting holes on top I'm nervous that once you turn your Xbox off and that fan stops blowing the holes are so large that dust is constantly falling into them. Its gonna get dusty regardless especially since I have my Xbox out in the open where air is constantly flowing around it, and not enclosed in a shelf where it's receiving air from just the opened side of the shelf.

Yesterday I went to gamestop and I was in a hard decision cause I had a ps5 and I loved it but something about the xbox caught my eyes so I decided with the xbox and so far I'm happy

I don't know about your review but as soon as I saw that black cover for the PS5 I hunted it up on Amazon and bought it.

The best console = whichever console you play the most on with your friends. For me, that happens to be the series x. I haven't played my ps5 very much since I bought purely due to the fact that I like to play with my friends and they play on xbox. So again, it's whichever console you play on the most with your friends. It literally could be either one.

You have pretty good points, the games really makes the reason why one console it's worthy it over the other, even with Starfield, Xbox it's just lacking of good exclusive games.

As an owner of both, I 100% disagree on which is better, and I used to be a big Sony fan. Games look so much better on Xbox, and the exclusive Sony has are mostly overrated, with the exception of the Naughty Dog games.
