it finally worked when doing the Bluetooth sync psbutton+share trick, but I had to be on the connected devices screen for a while before it prompted to connect. Thanks for the advice and try waiting longer if it doesn't work at first

The first tip totally worked. I used my other controller to get into Config and detected this second controller, obsolete for weeks after updating the firmware. Thanks, dude. Blessings.

The cable you use is also important it should be the rounded cable cause flat ones just charge the controller… hope that’s understandable

Is there a cheaper and better controller？

The share and PlayStation button simultaneously worked instantly for me. Showed up in Bluetooth devices right away. Thanks, I was getting frustrated with a brand new controller. You'd think Playstation would have listed this method in the damn directions for installing!

if you havent found a solution yet, what i did was i downloaded the ps remote play app on my phone and connected my phone to my ps4 via wifi/network and it connected and i went to the settings using my phone and went to bluetooth settings and tried connecting it through that (if ur controller was connected to ur ps4 before you want to forget the device and reconnect it)

My controller randomly went red whilst I was playing, it was unresponsive but it was on so I reset it from the back with a pin and it never came back on, now my controller was in perfect condition it’s less than 2 months old and hasn’t been dropped once, if anyone knows anything please let me know

Ok so, I connected my controller to another device recently and tried to reconnect it via usb. I tried maybe 4-5 times without it working. So I went to the PlayStation website and it said to reset the controller then try again. Since then, my controller still hasn’t connected to my PS4, any tips?

I've tried both methods, but it isn't working. I put my ps4 into rest mode so that I could download a game, and when I turn it back on manually, the controllers just won't connect.

@@codymacisco858 if ur still having this problem turn off the ps4 manually(long hold on power button) then try to turn it on with the controller that was previously connected/ur main controller. If that doesn't work try to reset the controller with the PS4 off then use the normal methods of reconnecting. Hope this helps

You can connect on ur phone using ps4 remote play and delete all the ps4 controllers on bluetooth devices and hold the ps4 button and the share button and wait till it pops up and press connect

You don’t have to, it didn’t work for me but I tried some other things and it worked. If it doesn’t connect I think the controller is trying to connect to another device so I would try to turn of Bluetooth for the device you recently connected the controller to. Idk if it’ll work but it worked for me but just keep trying random things and it’ll probably work out.
