Du hast mein Laufwerk gerettet! Hab eine Fat Lady mit defektem Blu-ray Laufwerk gekauft und war echt entmutigt, als Ich gesehen habe, dass der Clip komplett abgebrochen ist! Ich hab nicht die blaue Folie geschnitten sondern Plastik von einer Verpackung (Dose Heringsfilets XD) auf die richtige Größe zugeschnitten. Du bist mein Held für dieses Wochenende!

THank you SOOOO, MUch, Sir. I just open my 2007 60gb Ps3 today to replace the thermal paste, snapped my blu-ray ribbon clamp putting it back together. Lost all hope until I roamed to this video, Tried your 1st method, now my blu-ray drive is working again. Back in business. Thank you So much!!!

Same thing (with the CECHA01 too), These connectors are reallly fragile.

Before using your method to fix the connector, my PS3 40GB wasn´t read any disc anymore, but now it works just fine. Thank you very much. Jan.2017

One of the problems I noticed was that the disks did not spin until I corrected the connector problem. So one more time, thank you.

Thank you very much! The solution with the blue plastic bits worked like a charm :D In my case, I didn't have the black bracket, but I did have a spare blu ray ribbon, that had the blue plastic bits. Also I didn't glued them together, I just carefully placed the first bit and then pushed the second bit (with a bit of force) over the first bit. The cable is so tightly held that I had difficulties trying to get the plastic bits out. Thank you very much for the advice :D

Danke !!! Nsc hab dich in meiner psn liste ich hatte die paste getauscht und dann ist dieser clip abgebrochen aber dann hatte ich an dieses video gedacht und es funktioniert

Hey UltraNSC I have a question for you. I got a 60gb CECHC03 ps3 and it doesn't display anything. Theres a slight flicker on the tv screen when it turns on when using the av cable but thats it. Theres no flicker when using HDMI. If I put a lot of pressure on the rsx the display shows then crashs if I release the pressure. What do you recommend?

This is fucking good shit. I have been looking through a bunch of fucking ribbon replace/repair videos but NONE kick ass like yours!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 My fucking connector lever broke too for my ps3 which I am fixing. Got it repasted after getting the red of light of death. Lol. So I fired it up and i got an error code at 87% from the update. Many say it’s my blue ray drive cable (which I taped in place). Luckily I have the little black part that broke. Now I am going to cut the ends and do as you did and then. My freaking connection is solid thus enabling me to update my ps3 and get it back to running This video was fantastic I am sure this technique would work on any motherboard that has the same type of connector! You are awesome brother.

I don't understand where this is on the PS3. I can't find where to connect the ribbon too! I just found out disconnected recently, and have no idea where to re-connect it to!

Hello NSC, i need one advise from you. I have this PS3 when you insert the disc ( BLU RAY MOVIE, GAME OR DVD) don’t read the disc, when you insert a CD the PS3 read the CD but later say "THE DATA IS CORRUPTED” . You know about this issue. If you do please let me know. Thank you very much.

Sir, thank you so much. I tried to update a broken ps3 i got from kijiji . Which I fixed (had red light blinking) but I remember I broke that pin ...then after updating got an error 8002F14E..... long short story, after watching your video, I though it was that pin and followed it and now I fixed it again. cheers

This exact same thing happen to me after repeating it. The clip broke and got same error code. I will try this technique later.

it worked but now my disc is stuck in the blue ray drive but when i put the disc in the console it worked.

BEAUTIFUL!!!! your going to break it intentionally... 🙀 but Yes.... no glue but used some alien tape... the little metal contacts started trying to peel as well on the ribbon.

Hi there, the blue bit on my ribbon came off that plugs into the opposite end to whst your showing on the video, I glued it back together and plugged it in but now it doesn’t seem to be working or responding at all when I insert a disc any ideas?

NSC Modz i have only glued part of the ribbon (blue bit) back to the rest of the ribbon as the blue bit came off from the rest of the ribbon then I have plugged it back Into the port but there is no response from the drive at all

@@TheLoneRanger1992 check the contracts, hope it's not dirty with glue. And if the cable has no real pressure to the contacts, then it will not work.

Doesn't give a reliable connection. I even tried taping mine with Kapton and applying light pressure with some foam under the BD. Sometimes works, sometimes does not.

Hey! Ich hab ne ps3 fat (chec) bis heute noch läuft sie einwandfrei hab 2 mal staub entfernt aber bis zum kühler trau ich mich nicht zu wegen der paste. Kann ich nicht einfach vorsichtig löcher unten machen ohne die ps3 bis zu kühler zu zerlegen?

Melvin It's called the Green light of death. Sometimes a reflow fixes it and sometimes the RSX needs to be replaced. I'd suggest doing a reflow first.
