Can I swap parts with different models?

hello. I accidentally dropped new laser unit on the floor when disassembling it and it stopped working properly after that. can you probably suggest what could have broken. it tries to read the discs and sometimes does, but usually just giving squishing sound infinitely. can it be autocalibration gain and bias mechanism that is broken? can it be replaced? thank you

Sorry for late answer, last few months I do not have time for videos :( If you dropped laser probably this springs which hold laster are loosen of broken and there are no repair for that :( try to clean laster with cotton sticks, just gently clean.

my ps 1 laser golden cable broken is there any fix

Thank you for asking. In my experience the fix is possible but veeeery hard job, and maybe will not work properly, so my opinion is that you need a new laser unit, try find replacement on aliexpress or ebay or somewhere...

@@mig3646 You can try to scratch the flat cable on top on both sides and insert (solder) tiny wires to make connection. The problem is if that is moving part of flat cable how to secure the soldered part...

@@mig3646 Yes, if they are a same model, and be sure that laser on old one was good, I did not try to replace that tiny "square" on flat cable, that is a laser "generator".
