    The GL-MT3000 is wifi 6 and is going to be the better of the two with wifi speeds at 574Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2402Mbps on 5 GHz. Compared to the GL-A1300 which only has wifi speeds of 400Mbps on 2.4GHz and 867Mbps on 5GHz. However, both will get the job done. The one I have is an older model of the GL-A1300, as I got it prior to the wifi 6 ones coming out a few years ago. However, I will eventually upgrade a wifi 6 one in the future.

    I’m trying to avoid bringing my iPad or laptop with me. Is there a way that I can setup the travel router for the hotel wifi from my phone?

  • @SlapshotTech

    @SlapshotTech

    2 ай бұрын

    Yes, what you can do is get the wireless network setup on it prior to leaving. Then when you are at the hotel you can connect to it from your phone wirelessly. Then once connected you can go to the admin portal IP from your phones browser and finish the steps to connecting to the Hotel's wifi.

    So work has one of these setup for their WiFi, Gotta accept the terms. Can I set this up once and just need the travel router at work? Or do I need my laptop Everytime to set this up?

  • @SlapshotTech

    @SlapshotTech

    2 ай бұрын

    So it really depends on how long they allow the connection. If they don't have a requirement on how often you need to accept the terms then you should be good with only having to set it up once. However, if the they only allow it for lets say 24 or 48 hours, then you would need to go through the connection process and accept the terms again.

    hey boss do you need to connect the router via ethernet cable to the hotel's ethernet port? or do you only need the power cable to run the router?

    You do not need to connect the router to the hotel’s internet via Ethernet cable. You only need the power cable.

    Hello. I work as a truck driver. Not everywhere there is internet, much less a good one. Can I connect PS 5 to PS Portal via cable or something else? Or is it better to buy a small TV? Thank you😊

  • @SlapshotTech

    Connecting the portal to a PS5 has to be done over WiFi. For your situation, it would be better for you to get a small TV or even one of the portable monitors that are available now. Just make sure it has an HDMI input.

    Hello my os portal only connects when the portal and Ps5 are on the SAME WiFi. I want to use my portal on a different WiFi mostly my hotspot. It connects to my hotspot and I the ps5 does turn on but can never connect. Do you feel like this is a router block? A port forward solution?

  • @SlapshotTech

    It does sound like you will need to setup a port forward. Do you get a specific error?

    If the wifi you are trying to connect to needs a browser to accept a TOS agreement then you will need the hotspot for it to connect to the portal. But if there is only a wifi password then you can connect the wifi ssid directly to the portal.

  • @SlapshotTech

    @SlapshotTech

    3 ай бұрын

    It's not needed as you can just connect your laptop/iPad to the travel router wirelessly. But I like to use it with my iPad for a more stable connection. The process is totally doable without it. A little pro tip would be to configure the SSID on the travel router to match your home network and then when you are traveling the PS Portal will just connect without having to enter any passwords on it.

  • @SlapshotTech

    @SlapshotTech

    @@igotbigdreamzzz I don't see why it would not. As long as your PS5 has a stable connection to the internet and power you will be able to connect back to it.

  • @SlapshotTech

    I don't see a reason that it would not work. comparing it to the others available the wifi is slightly slower. However, the major difference is the LAN ports are only 10/100 vs 10/100/1000 on the others. But this would not matter for this use case anyways.
