The perfect way to finish my 44th anniversary, with another Bonsai Zone video! I hope the rest of your summer is great, Nigel!
Nigel you never failed to let us know how to go back to the basics, so naturally done. More power to you my friend.
Enjoyed your update. Can't wait to see you working on the plant room.
Loved the rain shot! Nice updates and prune.
Ohh my gosh. That opening had me fearing that the end of the wworld was finally upon us with commets from the sky! Great video.
I use 200l. every day and I'm sick of watering trees so Nigel I call you as a guest for a week so I can take a break. )))
Congratulations!!!! Your trees are absolutely amazing!
Boug is cool along with theses great updates of your trees!
We would love some of that rain here in texas!
Lovely 💚💚💚
Awesome updates Nigel, rain is hard to come by this year!
Outstanding
The new crown of thorns looks like a Thai hybrid. Those have been bred for larger flowers and different colors, and maybe the leaves are larger, too.
Very nice bonsai
Great updates. The guava is a very elegant looking tree. It’s nice to have a different style tree. 🐦😂
have never had any root rot on any of my succulents from heavy rains. from my experience, they love heavy rain and humidity. they thrive rain or shine!

I think people always get confused. People think succulent and they think of a deser cactus. Yet most succulents people grow are tropical varieties not desert varieties. Only things I've had rot is from poorly drained soil or leaf cuttings that just didnt root
that intro gave me interstellar vibes
Lucky you. Still waiting for significant rainfall in Boston. Just rumors of showers in the forecast: all talk and no show🙃
A comprehensive shooting perspective, as if seeing the potted plants as an old friend appearing in each video is familiar and beautiful, your figs can start waiting to be harvested, mine is still in the leaf viewing stage this year, a lot of leaves but no fruit.😅😅 Each The moss under the potted tree is beautiful and amazing
That Guava tree is very elegant, curvy in just the right places. That cutting is huge... I have to stay calm so I don't frighten the young man that hands it to me in my excitement... Great update Nigel. Trees are looking really nice!
What a beautiful intro. Well done!
Duuude so jealous of the bougainvillaea with the light purple/pink flowers, that tree has been on my list to get for a while!!
1:09 All the moss on my trees this year just died. No big tree losses though. (Other than an iron oak sapling that squirrels got to, but that's my fault for not protecting it properly. Lesson learned)
Very nice job.
That intro😇

@@TheBonsaiZone i saw that it came out so cool! Im trying that next time it rains here😄
Some of the Euphorbia milii plants sold are hybrids I think and tend to have a less shiny leaf. In any case the true varieties are quite diverse. If you can get a crested version, they can make an awesome bonsai. I have a crested cutting from a 'known" bonsai plant that hopefully in a few years will be large enough to show. 🤞
Thanks...
If you could send some of that rain to Rhode Island we'd be happy to receive it!
Wow! 1 province over we are having a nice growing season finally, every few days we have a nice rain! Sorry the showers have been missing you in Ontario Nigel!
I love the heat ♥️♥️ but wish we had more rain this season! On the positive note we only had to mow the lawn 2x this year now that I think about it! Will the fig taste as good as a blueberry bonsai? 🤣
Nigel you have 2 different Euphorbia Milii - Crown of Thorns, 1 small & 1 large leaves.
Nigel time for some landscaping videos bud. The bonsai on the benches are getting over taken by the weeds and plants from the walk way.. you can just feed them to the ducks and chickens
Hey Nigel, quick trivia for you, guava leaves are very good natural antiseptic/antibacterial medicine. You just need to boil the leaves thoroughly and you can use the water for cleaning wounds, scratches, cuts, etc. In my experience, it is better to use it while it's still warm. It has a very soothing effect, IMO...
Nigel, fig needs a special fly to ripen, so if you want to eat those you better take them outside
Different species of crown of thorns sir. Hybrids
👍👌🙂
Guava trees don't thicken that much :)
Beautiful, I have also a guava tree since spring, you have to look for it, there's a dwarf specie of the normal guava, very tiny leaves, slow growing, but 1cm internodes, I hope I'll see fruits on ot someday :)
Reminds me of the guava tree my grandpa and I planted 32 years ago but my tree is about 18 inches in diameter
Nigel you need to hire some one to help you with all your projects 😱
I lost half of my trees while on holidays. Misunderstanding with my brother on how often they need water. Can't even blame him.
Guava. Cool! Did you get fruit from it?
Water has a good thermo mass. if you can figure out how to insulate it, it may be possible to keep water in it over the winter without it freezing.
Those are different crown of thorns I have both
Japanese Beetles, get the grubs in spring/early summer with nematodes. Your nursery might sell them. Easy to spread in the soil.

In 2002 we had a bad case of the Jap. B.'s. I was working a garden shop and sold all kinds of traps and weapons. My neighbors on both sides even came in to the shop for a remedy. My eggplants were chest high when I saw the first in my garden. I snagged him up and held him up to the clouds, "Forgive me... I need these plants to live! If I find you again this will happen!". I crushed him. I never saw another, save at work.
Sir, do you have an update video on your guava tree? I have one like that too but I don't know how to cut it I'm afraid it might get ugly. in fact, it is already bearing fruit, so please, I hope you can help me so that my bonsai can be more beautiful
