What works of art these guitars are dayum

Nice demo, but I really wish you guys could have swapped guitars but keep to the amps you’d started out on, so we could compare each guitar in the same hands out of the same amps. These are really great guitars. I have a Santana SE (maple top), and it totally rocks. I also have several Core PRSes and the SE absolutely hold it’s own. It’s a real “magic” one (and I’ve compared several), no need for me to ever consider upgrading to the pricier version. And if I did, I’d likely still keep the SE.

Couldn't agree more about these guitars. Bought a 2008 Santana SE used a couple months ago. Amazing instrument, and for the affordable line, it sounds and plays amazing. I too was "awakened."

I've looked at these PRS guitars for my whole life, so afraid to try one in case I would fall in love with yet another guitar maker. I could see from across the room that these were quality instruments but my love of great guitars was straining my pockets enough without adding another brand name into the fold. That was a mistake I wish I never made. I'd tell myself they were too clean and shiny for my tastes. Oddly enough, this thing with almost no finish, and bats on the neck caught my attention. I played it for 2 minutes without an amp and could barely hold my composure, fearing the guy would change his mind and not sell me the guitar. What a great neck. Frets were in fantastic condition, especially for an old guitar. Today I have a small family of PRS guitars that I absolutely love.

I had the same model as the blue signature. A fabulous instrument which gave all manner of classic tones and was a stable as any guitar I've know. I also have a indonesian PRS Santana I take around with me and love it. PRS are all about giving high quality and guitars that won't let you down. They achieve that day after day. I sold the blue signature model at a local shop who went out of business the same time as they pocketed the money they got the money for it. Like many people experience, sometimes we have to sell to pay bills and this was a huge regret. As a guitar, I loved it, but I loved eating more.

I found the guy's droll and self-deprecating presentation a genuinely refreshing and charming change from the usual 'zany' amphetamine-induced schtick these KZread guitar shop guys tend to portray. Thanks for treating us like grown-ups, I'll be checking out more of your stuff.

Two years ago I bought a used Santana SE, and it was the best guitar I ever played (I've been playing for decades), so six months later I bought a "real" Paul Reed Smith used Santana 10-top with upgraded pickups, and I love it completely. It's remarkable how good the SE models are though. The 10-top is better, and worth the money, but the SE are only about $800 new but punch far about their weight. The SE Korean necks are slightly narrower than the American models, but both necks are excellent, and the Korean model really is well constructed. Both have an excellent tremolo system. I'm a dedicated PRS guitar user now. I'm looking at baritone guitars now, and I've heard the PRS SE models are a no-brainer if price is an object.

I know what you mean, although it is a very good, natural tube distortion. For Santana it's too much. The Carlos sound is to get it to the point where your volume knob can do the work, where backing off gets you a nice clean tone, and turning it up makes it sing. His sound has evolved a lot over the years.

​Check your ears@@angusorvid8840 Their distortion is super bad. It may be all tube driven but that doesn't mean it sounds good...

I would put those amps out on the curb for trash pickup.

Core's are no doubt great, absolutely wonderful works of art. But I LOVE the SE line. I own an SE 24 and it's one of the best guitars I've ever owned, and I've owned many. It's got a Duncan Nazgul/Jazz combo and it sounds absolutely incredible and plays like a dream.

Such an angry, moody guitar. I love it!

holy shit that red Santana was annoying in the beginning. 😂totally killed good licks from the blue Santana prs. they both sound awesome though

Avoid this video. These two can't seem to dial in a natural sound. Distortion sounds like a bees nest.
