Hi Physiotutors, Can you explain to me what's the meaning of the term "Epidural adhesions" in a physiological way and what can be the causes of such issue. Thx a lot for this video !
Hi... great video.... I've one question... what if there's no radicular or leg pain and movement is normal in both legs but a stretch is felt in lower back on the right side?
Thank you so much!✨
Great video!
That is an amazing explanation. Thank's from other physio in Canada.

Glad it was helpful!
I neglected to mention that I also utilise a thoracic screw manipulation / mobilisation in addition to the previously mentioned techniques.
Excellent video. If cervical flexion produces pain in the thoracic paravertebral muscles - would you say that is a positive sign of adverse neural tension/dural tension? What if the slump test is performed with the cervical spine in extension - nil pain. Then cervical flexion is added - thoracic paravertebral pain is present. What would be your interpretation?

Thanks! Depends on what kind of pain it is to be able to distinguish it. But in general, the dura mater is innervated from up to 8 different nerve roots, so you would expect bilateral referred pain over multiple segments. taking into account that T6 is described as a tension point of the dura by Butler, it makes sense to me that this pain is coming from the dura mater, given that it is dull, nagging, aching, diffuse in nature. Bringing the cervical spine into extension will then ease the pain because tension in the dura is reduced.
So i can use this test in the treatment plan to nerve root compression because it helps stretch the nerves ?
Hi I usually speak french. Can't translate NRC INC? What is it? the subtitles are not very clear :) thank you for your help!

Thanks, greeting to Nepal from Amsterdam!
Question. I had l5/s1 fusion and now have tailbone pain. Never had before. I can feel the pain during the slump test by just being slumped and looking down . Any suggestions ?

Can't give a diagnosis from afar based on this much information. The only thing a Slump can tell you is if nerve tissue might be involved in your pain experience or not.
i just wonder if all lower back injuries wont provoke pain in acute phase ?

It's not a test that is necessarily useful in acute aspecific back pain, but rather to test the mechanosensitive of the sciatic nerve and dura mater.
My physio tried this test with me and now I have a lot more pain. Feels like my nerve is overstretched. Is that possible? Is there anything I can do to calm my nerve?
@Physiotutors

That's possible as it's a provocation test and nerve pain can linger on for quite a bit. Shoulder normalize after a while though, as overstretching a nerve is not possible with this test.
What are these arrows about.?
