Thank you Pastor for breaking down these verses and putting it into context. Thank God for your life for breaking His word and allowing the scriptures to speak to us as God's voice & reason to us. This sermon has really convicted me to re-examine my life and take heed of wisdom as she cries out in the market place & to comprehend the warnings & the dangers of the worldly voices.

I truly appreciated watching this video. Mid of last year I was going through a rough time, and I really called into God and asked him to speak to me and allow me to hear his voice. I grew up in Church, so I knew of God and witnessed many times in my life where I called upon God usually through tough times and he delivered me. That was the relationship I had with him. I knew he loved me enough to deliver me when I called upon him, but to be honest I only sought him when I was in a rough time. I never took the time to actually learn what God wanted of me. Mid of last year I went through a heavy moment of depression and this time I asked God to speak to me and to show me how to hear his voice. Prior to this I tried to read the Bible 3 times. In which I would always start at the beginning and never really got to far in the Bible at all. One day, during my depression last year, I was listening to Pastor Toure’ Roberts while taking a shower. So in my head I asked God how do I know which chapters of the Bible to read, because my method didn’t work for me. As soon as that question popped in my head, Pastor Toure’ Jakes literally said “read Proverbs for wisdom” I could have slipped and fell in the tub 🤣 cause I was mind blown. I mean this was a previously recorded KZread video of Pastor Toure’ Roberts that I just happened to be listening to, and as soon as I asked that question of how to read the Bible; my question was answered directly. There was no doubt that God spoke to me. I didn’t get around to it, because eventually things started looking up in my life, and as stated before I only tended to call on God when I was going through a rough time. However, this time that feeling of me needing to start reading Proverbs wouldn’t leave me. It stuck in the back of my neck or conscious giving me a feeling that the longer I waited or put it off, something unfavorable was coming to me. You know like, when you’re in school and you know you have a big test coming up and that you need to study but you keep putting it off, subconsciously knowing the longer you wait to study the more you know you won’t do so well on the test. Well I finally started reading Proverbs today I read the first chapter, and I didn’t fully comprehend it so after reading I searched KZread videos of the first chapter. Your video was the first that came up, and I really appreciated it. The chapter really grabbed me, and I realized I was most certainly living foolishly. I feel fulfilled and enlightened, thankful and very much humble. This time around, I want to build a relationship with God where I realize I need him all the time. I want to build a relationship with him where he is able to use me, and that whatever I am put here on this earth to do for him, that I can come into alignment with my calling. Thank you.

Charlene it is as if you are speaking for me. Although I am scared that as in verse 28, God says He will not hear us, I was foolish too long as life falls apart in every way.

Thank you. Yes, in frustrated prayers, I do sometimes ask God, does _____need to happen to them? If they're into drugs or alcohol that they get a DUI? If they're sexually active but not married that they get pregnant or get an STI? Those prayers eventually just become "Your will be done, however it is" and for my own wisdom too

"The Hebrew word for wisdom is “hokmah” implying skill and efficiency through training and experience. A carpenter, a stonecutter, and a shop keeper would have “hokmah” in performing his work; he would be skillful. The Book of Proverbs in the Old Testament is a book of wisdom. “hokmah” showing one how to live skillfully. Skillful living is how to live in a manner that shows training and experience. Most people learn how to live by making mistakes because no one has taught them; no one has showed them the way to live skillfully; ways to avoid dangers and pitfalls in life."
