As pro-Palestine protesters have set up camp outside University College London (UCL) in the latest action by activists outside universities across the country, we spoke to some of them to let us know why they are there.
One of the protesters said: "We are not satisfied with tuition that we pay being used in tacitly or directly to help continue the genocide which has led to the destruction of the education sector in Gaza which is a disturbing irony in all of this.
"Thus, we are demanding from the university three demands, that being to divest from any companies that are complicit, to condemn Israel's ongoing war crimes, and then lastly to pledge towards the reconstruction of the education sector, which has been destroyed."
He added: "And thus, we have this encampment behind us. We are going to remain here for as long as possible for the university to address these demands that we have. Well, look, you don't have anything to be worried about because you're not doing anything wrong. That's firstly. Secondly, you need to be conscious of holding institutions who have a duty or who represent you."
