The Joint Hostel Committee and students of Mizoram University staged a protest at the main gate of Mizoram University. The protest was against the bad mess food and insensitive behaviour of the security guards. Every hosteller needs to pay Rs 2500 every month for the mess which is compulsory even if students don't eat at the mess. But the contractor doesn't follow the menu and students are served only potatoes everyday that too without any flavour and full of unhygienic food colour. The Dean of Students Welfare being a person who is responsible for the welfare of the students failed to take any action instead of repeated requests. The DSW is more concerned about the contractor than the health of the students and basic rights of the students. The engineering students were also frustrated as they don't get the minimum amount of water for their daily usages. Finally the students realised their rights and staged a protest against the Administrators of the University.
