I used long enough hair so when it was time to take out all I needed to do was cut the very end and just unwound and then pull thrown from the root.

You made that look easy. I will have to try that. Looking for new hairstyles to do on myself.

In November of 1996, after a domestic violence battery and bad relaxer, I started on my loc journey. I did my hair like this until my roots grew out, did a big chop, then started using this as one of my protective styles.

Yes, this summed up all my gatherings on temporary dread locs. Adding hair if I need or twisting in new strands. Actually this is cool. But I guess I can cut down a ton of stalling time by folding the plats and using the kinky hair on the top. I won’t waste my jumbo braids plats for as long as possible for now but i’ll get to do a ton of these butterfly locs without wrapping all the way down. Thank you!
