I always come back to this vision, even when standing in line for confession, of (when our Lord allowed Peter to walk on water after Him) Peter taking his eyes off Jesus, getting frightened, and then he started sinking. We do that. Whenever we take our focus off of our Lord, we fall or sink.

I remember watching this video over 1 year age ago, And this special recollection more like a silent inward gaze leads me to experience such profound peace and joy ..Which leads to a certain kind of pride and what happened is stopped discursive meditation thinking I'm already in some kind of mystical level .. without proper guidance we can be deceived.. And fall into almost a year into such interior suffering lukewarmness , falling into deliberate venial sin, discouragement. Thanks be to GOD I was doing my daily Rosary It helped me to persevere..but I avoided mental prayer with meditation but always try to be still looking inwardly..later I understand that even one is higher stages of prayer to we must do some meditation and humility is always safe road to travel ..and for sure prayer needs silent time listening and to be with GOD but completely removing meditation is not a good idea..I hope this will help someone

It would be good if we could all focus on ending abortion as a priority. This is the time, let's not miss it. We need to be teaching young people the truths of biblical faith and encouraging women to fulfill the self-sacrificing roles of being mothers. Fathers, also. Nothing much else matters if we do not take seriously our God- given role to have children and take care of them by raising them with attention, focusing on them.

Unfortunately, these thoughts are politically incorrect and wouldn't make it past the parish pulpits. There's too much fear to lose the remaining flock over controversial subjects such as abortion and motherhood which contradict social norms of feminism and communism as well as hedonism which unfortunately many even Sunday Catholics support. Our consolation is not in fixing society or even the members in the Church, clergy perhaps most of all, but only in the sacred heart of Christ.

  • @Charity-vm4bt

    @Charity-vm4bt

    2 жыл бұрын

@@MM22272 We are obligated to provide for our children. The Catholic Church teaches social justice. Consolation from the Sacred Heart is meant as a motivator. The Divine Mercy of Sr. Faustina is the Sacred Heart. He gave it to her to do something about stopping abortion. We do this by teaching our children. There are many teachings on the Theology of the Body. See Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life. He teaches how to be spiritual and take practical steps. Sister Faustina suffered the pangs of those undergoing abortion. She tried to wake us up. Marian apparitions exhort us to protect all children everywhere. Everyone can find a way to do that. Everyone can find a way to do more than they are presently doing. Just add 15 minutes a day to do prolife work. Even if it is prayer to the Sacred Heart. God is allowing judgement with sudden death by demonic covid. The Church includes laypeople. Not merely clergy. Laypeople are the parents. They are the ones responsible for their children. We do not fix the clergy. We fix ourselves. The Book of James states that Faith without Works is dead.

I could not AGREE more with you! Ending abortion, the SCOURGE of the whole world, must be our top priority! Abortion is an INHERENT EVIL...which means there is nothing good or "ok" about it. It is MURDER! God can NOT bless us if we continue to allow, permit this MURDER OF THE INNOCENTS. Read how Herod and his son died....HORRIBLE deaths. And people wonder why we are being hit with all types of natural disasters, the pandemic, cancer of all types, suicides, addictions, EVILS of all sort. We did not just open the door a crack, we opened it full wide and INVITED SATAN IN WITH OPEN ARMS! This will never end, and in fact will get worse...unless we pray, sacrifice, fast enough to END ABORTION! IMHO

@@maggiepatterson7949 Hi, Thanks, You said it perfectly. You understand the big picture. People in prolife work understand this. When we invited death in, it eventually destroys everything. When God lead the Israelites out of Egypt, He sent ten plagues before the Pharoah relented. But the Israelites also endured many of the plagues. They were complacent as slaves and not willing to leave Egypt. I will try to express your thoughts to others who do not see big picture. I am active in Catholic prolife work.

I can see how he did not want anything to get in his way with me. I don't want or allow anyone to get in my way with him. When I do stupid stuff, like Amazoning, I feel nauseous and just weird inside: Something ends up missing. I feel everywhere and yet nowhere.

With the TV we generally do other things and aren't planted in front of it but the cell phone you have to hold and control. It is good to be knowledgeable about the world events, but if concern over worldly things begins to crowd out God and faith then it becomes a problem (like thinking about Biden tripping on the stairs when he is supposed to be focused on prayer; it is concerning/funny but useless to think of in that moment).

Nirvana is not a joke. It's preferring ceasing to exist rather than exploring that a relationship with God could be a possibility. It's just the sin of pride, again, as in I will not bend the knee. An escape into transient psychosis. If a counterfeit peace can be found from being empty headed, rather than accepting God in your heart, then that's how souls are lost.

There is time for both. We see this in the liturgy. 90% of the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours is directed to God. There is a small section in Lauds, Vespers and holy Mass for prayers of intercession. I think what he was saying wasn't that intercession is bad. I think he was trying to say that if we don't know what to pray for, our prayers are not wasted. All prayer is of value, even if we don't specifically allocate it beforehand to a particular intention.

Minute 25: You have to have order in the family and the house. Great! How would that work if the father works long hours in the day and the mother works long hours through the night; and the children are left to their own caprice? Both parents working is normative. The family may need the money. The wife may be a feminist and want public adulation and from her friends or to impress people whom she'll never know. Yes, she may be an otherwise active Catholic. Anyways, what you say is good, but it's never articulated from the pulpits. So, it's nice to hear, but unfortunately only reaches a limited few, but still it's better than nothing.

Woah, why did you go straight to the woman being a feminist? Just because a woman walks, to help support the family does not make her a feminist. It makes her someone who supports her family. Or is this what you are saying about your spouse? Why do you think she wants adulation and not just a pay check. Is she helping to pay for the kids to go to Catholic school?

Many working women want to stop working but their husbands won't let them. I don't think it's feminism. It's greed.

The priests of the TLM reach many many people, you are incorrect that these teachings reach a limited few. Deo Gratias!

@@allyboballymomally7440 Many thanks for your heartfelt reply. You may be right. Let's consider some numbers. Wikipedia indicates but there are 600 locations where the TLM is offered out of just over 17,000 congregations. So, 600/17,000=3.5%. I have heard that the average percentage of nominal Catholics attending weekly masses about 10%. Wikipedia indicates that there are 70.4 million Catholics in the US. So, there's about 7 million Catholics going to mass. If 3.5% are those attend the TLM, as many as 246,000 attend weekly. If the US population is 335 million, only 7/1,000 or

Too many people want too much stuff instead of making sacrifices in order to allow the wife to stay at home. Everyone wants to biggest house they can afford instead of something smaller, they want the biggest most expensive car they can afford, the newest expensive phone, etc... people don't need all the stuff they have. People need to live more simpler and focus on their family and what Gods wants for them.

Some of his talks that are put on here are not "formal" but instead are done in a more private setting, a very informal talk to a very small group of people. They are more of a type of discussion, with room for adding to, hearing questions, ect. He is so good at what he does... When he does do more formal talks to larger crowds, he most definitely is very thorough & is an excellent speaker.
