Informative video. Ended up putting original plugs on the rear flaps, especially the inside plug holes. Look great and very firm.

I ordered these and will be installing today. Thank you for the recommendation and the instructional video. I don't think they give the pry tool anymore...I didn't receive one. The design is somewhat different as well and they are a more flexible material for any potential scrubbing.

Nice video, Aldryn. It was a bit contrasty and dark while filming the front mud flap but the rear was much better. I've been enjoying your videos for a few years now (drone channel) and you've been incredibly helpful and informative. Looks like the rear flaps do flush well with the wheel arch and rear molding. Plus I noticed this set like the other is a secure installation but they are not made for the MYP tire set, these are too narrow for the wide tire stance overall. Congratulations on you new Tesla, I picked up mine 1 weeks ago and now getting the Xpel matte finish & ceramic coating applied this week.

I had those mudflaps previously. They all cracked from hitting speed bumps etc after I lowered my car so I switched to the flat style, which allowed my to trim them down to size. What I discovered after taking off that molded style, is that sand and debris will get in between amd will end up scratching the black trim of the wheel arches/rear bumper. Just an FYI.

I bought these and could not get the pins in the rear and it wouldn’t hook into the trim, I have a 2023 not sure if that’s why.

I'm looking at the ground clearance and wondering if the rear guards won't break on parking bumpers as you back into a parking space.

Do you really need it in the rear? What is it going to protect?

These look great, but seeing as we got crazy high speed bumps everywhere where I live, these things will probably crack within the first few days and maybe damage my car in the process.

I understand that the front mud flaps protect your car but do the rear mud flaps protect your car, or just cars behind you?

Did they obstract ocean sell these type anymore? I click the link and their not the same mud flap.. thanks

Hardly notice any difference

These couldn't be easier to install. They are however extremely small. Not sure how effective they will be for the job at hand though? (just finished installing them)

I had a mud guard fall off and the fasteners won't secure when I tried replacing it. Almost like the hole became misaligned

Thank you for sharing the installation and product. Have you seen any issues with the top section being loose?

@@TeslaoftheDay Don't think it's legal in California to tint your headlights. Or the windshield, or front side windows.

It's not a bolt, it's a socket and it's not to take out a screw, it's to take out a bolt. But I have to wonder how it effects range because they basically are catching wind causing worse wind resistance than the side mirrors do.

Do the mud flaps cause more wind resistance and reduce efficiency? Has your range dropped after the mud flaps installation?

I'm sure there is a bit of drag. Hard to tell how much of a difference in range as I would need to do a side by side test of it.

someone did do a test, it came out to like 3 miles less range on a full charge,

I really like those but the link is not those. They're just flat from the link you posted.

I know some people only have the flaps on front. I'm just not sure if there's much benefit to having rear flaps.

There's significant kick up from the tires. Both front and back really help.

Looks great, but hard plastic will just crack and fall of if you hit bumps

ITs been really good. I did recently chip the front one on a high speed bump. So being that they are a solid mudflap, they will crack versus others that are thinner and bendable.

Is it safe to remove that screw on th bottom of the bumper?

Tesla doesn’t make Rear mud flaps for the model Y only the front OEM mud flaps.

if you haven't received ur Tesla, don't get this. My Tesla delivered last month came with mud flaps and rear door PPF. seems like Tesla is aware of this issue

Bought my Model Y three weeks ago and there was no mud flaps or PPF. Did you buy a used one?

PPF is definitely not a standard thing. That costs many thousands of dollars and is done by the owner after they get the car. Sometimes they’ll get ceramic too. Tesla have never offered this. So I'm guessing your either mistaken, or you didn't buy it brand new.

These mud flaps appear to be better constructed and more form fitting than others I’ve seen. I believe it is due to the double clips in this version. I bought some from another vendor that are a bit smaller, have only one clip. Three of them fit well but the right front doesn’t fit well at all. It sticks away from the frame about 1/4 of an inch and I can’t get the Livermore, Ca vendor to send me a replacement for the one ill-fitting right front mud flap. They want me to remove all four & send them back at my expense. These cost me $50 and imho, are complete trash. Your mud flaps looks a lot better. Thanks for the video.

Man I broke the front on a speed bump in the summer need to buy a set but they look different now when I use that web site
